The father of the baby is 27. The mother is 14. Isn't that statutory rape? Add that to his being in this country illegally - he should be deported immediately. But of course the bleeding hearts in this country will use the anchor baby loophole in our constitution and another illegal criminal (an oxymoron actually since illegals immigrants are criminals by virtue of their status here) will be walking the streets. Selective reporting on the part of Newsday in it's effort to smear several fine longtime LI residents who served our school districts for so many years?(No, never, not Newsday - LOL LI's answer to the National Enquirer!)
I would like to know the reason that Newsday has yet to include the principal partners of Minerva and D'Agostino in their gossip columnist style discussion of the school attorny issue (a non-issue in my opinion). Both attorneys were also on district payroll(s) and both attorneys currently collect pensions from those positions. And the FBI, the IRS and the NYS Attorney General's Office have been made aware of this...and yet Newsday hasn't slandered their names as they have done with these other fine attorneys who rendered years of vital service to LI School Districts. Is there any connection between Newsday and the firm of M & D?

I find it to be very amusing that each year there are votes for the annual school budgets most of which are amazingly accepted in the first vote while others have to be rammed down the peoples throats. The net effect of this is to increase the already atrociously high property taxes which in turn increases the inflation rate an increase that is greater than any increases in the wage level index. As a result of this both mommy & daddy have to work leaving their children either in school or day car centers. It is common knowledge that the LI school system is notoriously corrupt. We currently have yet another example of this corruption being published in the papers. It remains to be seen whether corrective action be taken in this matter which would thus reduce all of our property taxes or whether the corupt politicians will again ask for increased school bugets next year. Given their past performance I regrettably think that it will be the latter.

We also told that two towns want to build new firehouses that will cost the taxpayers yet more money. Frankly I dont see ehat is wrong in using what you already have. Coram built a HUGE one that looks like a combination restaurant, hightclub & bordello..well at least they appear to have more than enough room for all of it. I am amazed in number of times on an average day they empty their firehouse on alleged calls. No matter what hour of the night & regardless of whether there are anyone on the streets it always has to be with sirens blaring. Reminds me that some children never grow up given that when they do they want new toys, bigger toys & LOUDER toys with which they can do anything they want including crashing parties!

Baumbach is totally wrong with his comments about the Yankees disgracing themselves. Letting Billy Crystal play in an exhibition game is wonderful, not discraceful. He has been a lifelong Yankee fan and he is a true gentleman and fantastic comedianne what is disgraceful about letting him play, sometimes in this day and age with some nitwit politico's and a raging war a little levity in our lives is good so Mr. Baumbach I feel your column today is disrectful if that's all you can write about you had better find a new line of work.
