Um, Jodi Picoult's story was different and it was FICTION. Plus, the endings are completely different.

How sick is this world when someone thinks that it is right for a couple to create a child in a lab for the sole purpose of harvesting body parts. How is this girl supposed to grow up knowing she was unnaturally conceived in a test tube just for spare parts.

I have a Master's. And I must say...I agree with him. I mean, the younger brother will know that he was only "created" for what he could provide his sister. I think science has gotten in the way of real family values.

What in the world is going on here?

The Trebing family is one of the most disfunctional families I've ever heard of. Children are human beings, and should not be conceived so that they can be involuntary donors.

And the parents certainly seem to be spending a lot of media time trying to make their consciences feel better.

I agree with the people who find it all very disturbing. Giving birth to a baby solely so the child can be an involuntary donor is twisted.

Why don't you judgementals try putting yourself in those parents' shoes? I would have done the exact same thing and I'm sure that little boy will grow up to be proud and happy that he saved his beloved sister's life. When you think of all the horror stories of girls leaving babies in the garbage to die, those are who you should be angry with. These parents are saints for saving their daughter. Merry Christmas to all of you. Thank God for a happy ending.

Very inspirational story. When you're a parent of a sick child, you'll do anything to save that child's life...so, for those of you who have no children yet, please keep that in mind...it's easy to judge someone, but the sibling who was conceived to help save his/her sibling's life will undoubtedly feel incredibly special for being the one who really gave the miracle of life...It's amazing the technology we have today and how many lives have been saved as a result.

To those of you who hold such high judgmental moral opinions of what is right and wrong with our society, this is one you should rethink. Look at your own kids and tell me you would not do everything in your power to save your child’s life? Especially when today’s technology would allow you the opportunity to be able to make such a decision.
I was just one of several blood donors for Katie honored with the opportunity in keeping her alive until a cure could be found. I believe it will be the proudest day in Christopher’s life when he fully realizes what he was able to contribute that saved his sisters life!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Trebing Family

Instead,Think of it as now they have two reasons to feel blessed. It will depend on how the parents tell him, and IF they do. And pray tell, what the h*** does having a Master's have to do with anything??For you to feel the need to say that says just how smart you really are. Jerk.
