I am grieved. So sorry for the family's loss with the death of this fireman.

As a father and a grandfather I know that his only mission was to get to his boy. A man cannot lose his life in a better effort or with greater love.

Godspeed Mr. Simmons.

Such a heartache, the loss of a courageous man, who was a loving husband and devoted father. My thoughts and prayers are with his family...

Hope the 10 year old is going to be OK. He's got some tough Road ahead of him now. I'm sure that the guilt will be overwheling at times. This is such a stark contrast to the Middle East where life has no value at all. I will pray for this Family.

You need cojones the size of baseballs to be a fireman. And we of the general public appreciate their bravery.

God bless this man's soul. And condolences to his family.

Men like him make a dangerous world safer for all of us.

Again, God bless.

Lake Tahoe is way above sea level. Therefore breathing can be extra difficult.

I went there in 1984 and got really sick. I just found out why recently.

You would think this would be communicated more, since it is dangerous. But it is not.
