You will find the answer to these mystery homicides in one of three reasons, either singularly or in a combination of money, sex and drugs. Mr. DiMartino at first glance looks to be the ideal family man who was a tireless worker. That would probably leave out the sex and drugs angle. Interested to find out what this lucrative deal was about, a possible money angle. He was definitely set up by someone who felt slighted, hope the answers to this don't hit close to home.
I'd be willing to bet my left arm that he was involved with a bunch of shady Italian "businessmen" who wanted him to do all the leg work, him to put up all the money and then they rip him off. Such a typical lazy Italian move. So typical.

Eddie- I would never make that statement-betting a body part. Let the families grieve and find the traitor who killed a dad.

Take some good advise-let the law tend to this- & your post sounds a bit loose-

I agree that somehow big money was involved in this hit and I am almost sure that this is the same man who handled our real estate purchase in NJ around 18 years ago. If so, while I did like him, I disliked intensely the manipulative, unethical real estate agent he was working with. Sometimes bad things happen through association. Regardless of why it happened I am very sorry for his poor wife and four little girls. How tragic.

First, there are some very cold and callous people on this site. I only knew Jim and Diane for 7 years, but in that time he struck me as a very warm, kind and caring person. Watching him with his wife and children showed numerous times the type of person he IS. And this is the memory of Jim that I will have with me forever. Thanks Jim.

Well after reading thru all the intelligent comments on this page, I had to jump right in. 1st to say, that a man LOST his LIFE! The gift that no one has the right to take away! He's got 4 kids who will never have their father back again. That is so, so sad. In defense to the person who said he was a criminal attorney, I am guessing they thought this was to be true because everything I have read about this horrible crime says that he started in criminal law. I feel for the family & pray for you.

Jim was a wonderful man !!!! A great father , and man of honer and respect with a personality that can never be matched. I trusted Jim and also liked him as an attorney and as human. We laughed when our business was over and he always said how much he loved his girls and wife. We spent the entire day together in CT last month and we laughed. His wake was unbelievable with lines and lines of people trying to see him for the last time with 4 young innocent girls crying their eyes out with a mother and father and wife in pain of their heart breaking . its only a fool that would make a negative comment of such a great man. My prays and thoughts go to his entire family. Bruce

Any and all that have made such disrespectful comments better take a good hard look in the mirror. I'm sure most of you are pieces of garbage anyways and remember the saying "people in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks". As an old friend of Jimmy (from days long gone bye) I read your comments and realize why our country is so screwed up. You people didn't even know him and yet you make comments. You are all assholes.

I knew the man. He started at the Legal Aid Society with me. He represented the poor who were charged with crimes. He had a lot of energy and gave his all for those clients nobody cared about. His work as a defense attorney was not a mistake. His work demonstrated how much heart he had when the chips were down for his many clients. He was also a fierce softball player in the court league. I lost track of him when he began his private practice. I am saddened to learn he leaves behind a family.

Having had the Honor of working with Jim, in the real estate Industry, and having him bat 4th in our softball lineup, I can say that as a yong American (29 yrs old) one could not ask for a better role model. Jim did not smoke, drink, and was a role model, for everyone in the industry.
He worked hard for his family, and his 4 beloved children. Jim, was in evey morning 730am, and made it a point to make his family the priority.
His office, adorned, with pictures of his family. He is what every young American, should try nad strive to be. I looked up, and will always look up to this man, as long as i live. You could always hear the charm in his voice, when speaking of his wife, and children, the Yankees, and he was a proud, proud man. Jim, wasn't an underhanded, money hungry Attny, like so many attny's are stereo-typed to be. He will be in our hearts and minds & if there is a such thing as justice in this world, God, will see to it that is transgressors be apprehended. Rest in Peace. my Good Friend.

Jimmy was a winner . I doubt if Jimmy was a live that these people would make negative comments to his face. Jimmy was a ball of energy and heart, second to none. Just being around a person like this makes you better

Jimmy was a a great guy. Always positive and always making you laugh. Our families shared a lot of wonderful times together. I am very close with them and it saddens me how people want to judge. Shame on anyone who has the time to write a negative comment. Remember Jimmy has children and they should never have to read hurtful comments about their father. Please keep that in mind. And i'm sure the girls and his wife enjoy the happy memories so keep them coming. Thank You.

Well I hope they're all bracing themselves for the news that's about to come out about "good old, clean cut, honorable" Jimmy.
My guess is that those who truly knew him won't actually be too surprised.

I guess we will soon find out what relationship he had with his killers. I always said he double crossed someone..I bet he stole money or drugs. Should be interesting.
