Common misconception. Pensions are protected assets, not savings accounts. They're generally not attachable, they're judgement-proof and nobody caught breaking the law every has to forfeit their pension.(Public, private, etc) Even criminals in prison can collect their pensions, but often while collecting they have to pay back the government for room & board.

That is called a negotiate benefit. You take less pay during your employment and contributions are made on your behalf. It is the "employeees money", a gamble really. If you kick off before you collect what was contributed on your behalf, plus interest, you lose. If you live longer, you win.

Mr.Spota, you can have a field day in any town in Suffolk in this regard. Even when permits are present, the inspectors are the dumbest people I've ever seen. And I wonder if most of them were Grandfathered in because they worked for the town in a lesser capacity previous to the inspectors job? Kickbacks? The call of the day my friend!

What a story. They take a guy who builds 2 to 3 homes a year and they turn him into a "developer". A "developer" is someone who soes BIG jobs. IE Holiday, Pulte, Beechwood, etc. Picking on a little single home builder to bust in b**ls is no comparison to what you could get from the big jobs. Your lookin in the wrong places. The buy builds a good house and is honorable in backing up his construction job.

Mr.Fitzpatrick should be available for next weeks arrest. Maybe it will be income tax evasion.

Are we done with the karate instructor pedophile case yet? I think they now have enough to put him away for 50 years.

BIG DEVELOPER. Ha, ha. Tom saves the big developers when his detectives/private investigators/security consultants need to sign up a big developer. Oh, you need protection, step into the office on your right. There is one of our finer detectives who will sign you up.

One can only wonder if signing up customers for his lads was on his mind when The Sentosa crew came a knockin.

I want to know how much this is costing Suffolk residents and the people of Smithtown. Spota is dragging his feet for 18 months and we are paying the price. This is ridiculous. How many times are we going to go after the little guy????? Let's drag Fitzpatrick out one more time.

Two year probe! He didn't get much for it did he? What he really wants is to get Vecchio. When are the feds going to put an end to this. They pulled this crap in Patchogue. They got in trouble and are still in the soup. Now they do this?

There is nothing wrong with going after corrupt public officials, but going after some patsy like Fitzpatrick? What happened, Fitzpatrick refused to wear a wire?

Spota has at least 100 SCPD detectives and in house investigators working directly for him. Many of the in house investigators go back to his early days in the DA office.

Without any bennies included, I would put the total cost of those investigators near $20M. And that is not counting the cars and gas provided to most of them to go back and forth to work in.

He spent the services of his two bureau chiefs to persecute two different men for misdemeanors. FOR MISDEMEANORS!!! He brought back a retired police officer back from out of state to testify in the cases. Not only did the supervising cop fatten up his pension with the OT garnered with a BS investigation, but he gets paid the current pay scale at the rank he retired. Stick that on top of a pension I have to believe is in excess of 100K a year.

Why didn't Tommy bring back a witness for the Sheriff Mahoney case. He said it wasn't worth the cost. We don't even know if the witness lived in NJ. Maybe he lived in Queens County, as some folks in Suffolk believe they are of a separate state, if not a country.
an actual thought
