Atleast the people who live in Suffolk County don't feel like they live in the City and that white trash you think you're talking about is a very good friend of mine for 25 years. Why make disparaging remarks about Suffolk County. Go jump off the L overpass why don't you.

Who makes you the authority as to who & what is considered, "White Trash"? Your posts reads that you are obviously an uneducated bigot with little morals and no sense of empathy for people or persons with obvious mental disorders. Shame on You! God shall smite thee....

Good for you Rebecca for standing up for your friend. He/she however, does appear to need some counseling. I understand completely the need for caring for unwanted and neglected animals, however, that number is quite staggering and unhealthy for both your friend and the animals, especially unfortunately for the ones that have perished during this tragedy. Be a better friend and see that your friend gets the support and help that they need.

I guess the cop was wearing one of the old uniforms and not one of the new, synthetic uniforms that melt right onto the skin when they come in contact with fire. Wonder which headquarters genius came up with the idea for the new uniforms.? Your taxes dollars at waste.

Before you speak about keeping crows or raccoons or even both - EDUCATE YOURSELF. Most people do not keep these as pets they are wildlife and a lot of times they too need a little help from us humans to make it in this world. Do you know the particulars on this case? Are you as uneducated as you sound? A lot of people take care of these animals until they are able to be released when they are able to survive on their own. And did you not listen to the reports that they animals including the raccoon that bit the fireman all appear to be in good health. Or are you one of these ignorant idiots that believe all wildlife carry rabies and all types of zoonotic diseases that may infect humans. You ignorance accounts for your statement - Next time read up on these wild animals and see just how crazy those of us who with our own finances assist, rehab, and allow these animals the chance of survival by getting them to where they can be released into the wild again

we have many animals at our house, including an occassional litter of raccoons and assorted other wildlife. we also have special needs cats. anyone who has not been to our house probably thinks we live like the animals we care for but our house is spotless and odorless. people that make judgements based on common beliefs just make it harder for those that care enough to rescue or give a home to an animal in need. your crude comments only show what kind of a person you are, one who only cares about themselves and finds joy in looking down on others. how could you posssibly laugh at people who are compassionate and give of their time and means so that those less fortunate (animals included) can be helped? these people should be commended and maybe it wouldn't help to offer them some asssistance, especially now that they are going through a tragic time in their lives. Grow up and start acting like an adult!

Rosel...you say that you want people to act more mature. Bravo. However, I think you need to do some yourself.

To everyone else, this was a tragic event. None of you seem to have known the person who lived there. You don't know if it smelled or was messy. You don't know if those animals are wild or tame. The situation needs your caring not your finger pointing

May i just say to you that i personally know those people and the crow was rescued from a rehabilitater they worked with. That crow only had one wing. It could never survive in the wild. Second of all, those raccoons were rescued from a neighbors wall as little babies. They were bottle fed and due to be released in the Spring when the were matured enough to survive in the wild!So before you judge someone, know your facts first!!!!
