Whether the accusations are true or not...I don't know. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. My husband and I tried the establishment a few weeks before the charges were made. Terrible. We were taken to our table by the pregnant hostess (owner maybe...I don't know)The chairs were wobbly to say the least(I'm 5'6" and quite slight..120 lbs). Perhaps they purchased them used. 15 minutes after being sat...nothing...not even an an acknowledgement.(I've worked in restaurants for 15 years now and have managed a bar/lounge for 9 of them). We continued to sit giving them the benefit of the doubt. It was not terribly busy but the staff sure spent time talking to friends at tables.
We waved down the hostess and let her know we hadn't even had our drink order taken (20 minutes now). She apologizes and scurries off to the wait-staff station...where Viva Juan had their stage/karaoke. We were sitting 2 tables away. 5 minutes later still nothing. My husband and I found it almost comical. Forgetting tables are "sat" happens...but once there's a complaint...Voila!...server at table and you're ordering in no time. At FBB...not true. We could'nt leave at this point... we had to see how it played out. I watched the owner (said accused) stand at the end of bar chatting with staff. The chef (other accused) in and out of kitchen with paper in hand doing some sort of paper work and chatting with staff. I decide the only thing I like about this place is the belts on the walls connected to one another. Clever.
About 5 minutes after my first reminder to hostess I remind her again. Within a few minutes we have two severs at our tables. Everyone apologizes.
We order appetizers (corn fritters and something else which I forget) I order a pork pulled basket and my hubbie orders Kobe burger. The corn fritters were DRY. I mean Gobi desert dry. The pork was super salty and the "Kobe" burger was questionable. If they think they're getting pure Kobe they may want to question their supplier. I have only had Kobe steak so I can't be sure but my husband didn't finish it. Maybe it was old. Who knows.
No desert. We'd had enough. We went to Carvel next door for sundaes.
My point is...allegations or not, this place would have had a hard time keeping up their establishment after the honeymoon phase wore off. I had talked to people before the charges and they were not happy with it either.
Is this their first restaurant endeavor? I'd be surprised if it wasn't.
Just my two cents.
If they are in fact innocent I wish them well. If not...well.. I hope for justice.

Well to all the ridiculous people on here...they are opened for business again... and the mac and cheese is better than ever! LOVE this place! LOVE the staff! I dunno re LS of RP's post... I have sat everywhere in that place and I have never been in wobbly anything. IT ROCKS. As for the alleged "VICTIM"... ironically it has come out...she has made this accusation against 2 former employers as well. She has accused local kids of the same. Basically.... she cheats..gets caught... and cries rape. YES there are lying women out there that make it so much harder on real victims. THE KICKER is that she stole a family members idenity and... has been arrested for Identity theft. She bought some big ticket items with it. This is one screwed up carazy person. Glad she never waited on me... I didnt like her so i asked for someone else every time. SO GLAD THEY ARE THROUGH THIS NOW LETS FOCUS ON THE GOOD EATIN!

So you say "she cheats".....that means the owner and/or chef DID have sexual relations with her?!?!? Nice!!!! I'd hate to know where the milky white table cloth stains come from!!!!!!

No. Nobody implied that was the RECENT event she accused of...however her history certainly would establish that she cheats on her boyfriends regularly. STFU if you don't know who or what you are talking about...seriously that girl is known in these areas. SHE IS the girl your mother warned you about.

When there is a microscopic retraction and apology printed in Newsday...are you going to apologize on this board?

Earlier this month my husband and I had dinner. What a great meal! I had the ribs, he had a steak and the portions were more then enough. There was no wait but we went mid-week. I would definitely go back again.

We are regulars and love the food. The steak and onion straws are delicious. Portions are huge and the staff and George and Bobby are wonderful. Love to here stories from the bartender about his flying days! So glad they are here. A great place for families too. It's always a toss up for me between the steak and chicken although the ribs are good too. Don't miss the chicken wings although they are as big as a turkeys!!!

We usually have been getting takeout and we recently went in try their "KOBE" hamburgers.
It was probably the best burger I have ever had, nice char on the outside and dribbling juices on the inside.

After enjoying the meal I was bothered by the fact that they market it as "Kobe" beef when it probably isn't really from Japan. I hope at least if is Wagyu beef if they are going to charge that much.

Again the best burger that I have had but to use "KOBE" is misleading an does not justify the high price.

Just my 2cents and I will be back regardless.

I used to work in the food-service industry and casual sex was extremely common. And there were a lot of nutters around. So a situation like this one was bound to happen somewhere, some time.

The reason I left was not because of George or Mike (the chef) I left because working 80hrs a week simply wasnt worth it realizing I am not cut out for the restaurant biz I quit! I still support both george and his family in getting these false charges dropped! Something that none of you could possibly know is that I did not want to hire the accuser because I just had a bad feeling... and of course I was right! Too bad that George just has a good heart and cant always see when someone is going to take advantage. In this particular case the word "advantage" couldnt possible cover the amount of damage this liar caused for both the business and the Leodis Family.

I went there the other day for the first time. I was not dissapointed. We were probably the first in there for dinner, noted, but we were served quickly and our orders taken quickly also. The waitress was kind and had perfect telepathy in judging when I needed a refill on my drink. Generous coupon used and accepted from another website,a huge plus. The portions were simply gigantic for the price you pay which is rare these days. I almost thought it was too much to be honest, but I can't hold more food against them certainly. Brisket was great, ribs were really good but should have a more manlier version available in terms of amount of dry rub spices. My girlfriend loved the Mac & Cheese and said it tasted different than any she had ever tried. I agreed with my Corn bread, which, as a baker, I am very picky about - it was actually damn great, I've never had corn bread that wasn't able to escape the gritty dryness of corn meal but it was perfect. The sweet potato fries were well done also. I think by now we can see the "rape" allegations are pretty much BS and not really even worth discussing so I won't divulge further on that. The ribs weren't life changing, but everything was cooked well, tasted good, and it was a completely positive experience. It's nice to have *any* BBQ location in this part of long island and me and my gf both agreed to return sometime soon.
