Hey, I love my add meds more then my parents could ever immagine. But not more then the next kid with adderall. Honestly I don't think these should be prescribed so much. I admit, I sell my pills left and right, but so does everyone. It's not good, everybody insufflates this crap. I would compare it to yao.

Honesty...

Dear Mom's of addicts, hope your kid "OD's" before they can talk any other kid into trying that junk!!!

Maybe if you spent more quality time with your kid's instead of brushing them off?

This is to Legistrator Kennedy,
I was at that meeting and other meetings where you asked about the DARE progran in our schools. Do you now see that it has very little effect on our children, Smithtown has a very big drug problem. I also had a child addicted to herion, we do need to take out heads out of the sand, the dealers are here and are staying al long as we allow it.
Joanne - Good luck to you and your child. I agree, the problem is bigger than anyone wants to admit. There are so many children addicted to heroine, and people that have been lucky to escape it in their own families don't have a clue. The irony is they probably have been affected, but don't know it yet. I personally know so many kids, all from good caring families, its sickening. What people need to understand, is heroine is here, and by here, I mean on your block, in your schools, at your job, everywhere your children go. Kids make mistakes and we do our best to protect them, but some mistakes can't be taken back. Everyone should take this personally and get to work on the problem. Stop judging people and protect the kids. Stop the profiling, good kids are getting it from other "good kids" in "good homes", they don't have to seek it out. Its here, and will remain here unless we work together to stop it. Denial seems like a safe place when your in it, but believe me, its not safe. Heroine is bigger than all of us, we need to start chipping away at it and stop the local flow. To all of the parent bashers, if you are a parent, or know any children, your life just may be the next one thrown into the dark ugly world of heroine. Who will you blame? Community meetings, school involvement and police intervention is what is needed, not more ignorance.

I am sad to tell you that my Niece died of a heroin overdose.
Drugs DO NOT discrimate.
My Niece was 23 years young. She left behind a 9 month old dughter.
Her husband was charged with her murder. He thought it was an easy way out for him. My Niece was not a drug user. The autopsy showed that there was no earlier traces of ANY drugs in her system.
Her cause of death was an overdose of injected her
with heroin.
Now my sister (58)and wonderful brother-in-law (63)
have custody of my beautiful little Niece.
Life is so unfair at times. My Niece's death shatttered my family. You just never regroup from the loss of a young family member. Such a loss.
I wish I could bring her back to my sister.

It's spelled "heroin" not "heroine." Sorry - that's just really annoying me, Smithtown mom.

OxyContin Maker Used Deceit, Stalling Tactics to Block Generic Drugs and Gouge Consumers, According to Consumer Lawsuit
Exclusive Rights to Drug Reaps Billions in Profits for Company
at Expense of Patients Seeking Relief from Pain
HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/-- A number of consumer groups and individuals today filed a lawsuit against Purdue Pharma, L.P.("Purdue") claiming that the drug maker reaped billions in unlawful profit from OxyContin consumers through fraudulent patents and sham lawsuits that blocked generic alternatives to the widely prescribed pain reliever.
The suit, led by the Boston-based advocacy group Prescription Access Litigation project (PAL) on behalf of Connecticut Citizen Action Group and Health Care For All, was filed in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut. It has been assigned to Judge Mark R. Kravitz in New Haven. PAL is a project of Community Catalyst, a nonprofit, national health care advocacy organization.
The suit alleges that Purdue has been illegally marketing and selling OxyContin since December 1995, when it received approval from the Food and Drug Administration ("FDA"). To win its patents on the drug in the first place, Purdue told the federal patent office that OxyContin was unique because of its effectiveness at very low dosages. The suit charges that Purdue knew that there was no evidence to support this assertion at the time the company filed for the patents and therefore received exclusive rights to the drug that it did not deserve.

I'm not contesting that her husband may not have given her a hot shot, it's absolutely possible. But were there signs of struggle? If not, you have to assume she was ready and willing to try it. My other problem is that there is NO WAY the autopsy said she had no earlier traces of any drugs. Most drugs, and virtually all dangerous drugs, stay in the blood under a week, usually 3-4 days. She could have been using all along.
I am terribly sorry for your family's loss, but it sounds all too much like the denial and naivety that most families go through.
OF COURSE IF I MISSED A PART OF THE STORY WHEREBY THE INJECTION WAS FORCED INTO HER BODY, THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING. My point in this post is not to anger or upset, but to point out how everyone needs to take off the rose-colored glasses.

Similar to my last post/reply; I am going to focus on the sentence you wrote:
"I am hoping that when the time comes, and I know it someday will that she is offered drugs, or alcohol, or is sexually active she will be comfortable enough to talk to me about it."
Do you think that has not already happened??? She's 15, and you think she has not been propositioned with everything under the sun? These kids are starting in junior high, and you're daughter's probably in 10th grade. She may be a very good kid, but again, it scares me that your post reads as if you think she has not been confronted yet. I DO APPLAUD YOU AND THINK YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING TALKING TO YOUR DAUGHTER AND WATCHING THESE SHOWS, ETC. But, PLEASE, do not think she has not come across it just because she hasn't told you she has or because she is telling you what other kids are doing. Kids are crafty and will do that, tell you how bad the other kids are to distract you from their own behavior. AGAIN I will say your daughter may be a great kid who NEVER gets into trouble with sex or drugs, and I think you are doing a GREAT JOB educating her and being what a parent should be, but don't EVER have that false sense of security based on the lip service they pay you. Keep up the good work and good luck to you.

Dear mom's of addicts, my name is Lucy I'm from Romania and in my country from february this year is doing a treatment called Dr. Waismann's ANR Method (Accelerated Neuroregulation) that reverses the dependency on Heroin, Methadone, Suboxone and other opiate medications. The treatment cleans ans blocks the opioid receptors and controlle the withdrawal symptoms using medication and under anaesthesia. When you wake up you are no longer opiate dependent. After that daily you have to take one pill of Naltrexone for a period established by the doctor. At the end of the treatment you are free from the heroin dependency. This is a very good treatment i know many people that made this procedure and they are feeling very well. If you want more information about this treatment visit the site www.forad.ro or send me an email on mihga30@yahoo.com
