It is amazing that the drug use continues to rise in this day and age. Just a tip from a local resident, the police need to be aware of 2 places....Ronkonkoma near the middle school and colony park apts.>. there is a "suspicous" guy ( not kid) that has a huge tattoo on his neck and rides around ..looking. Also on Bohemia in the IGA?CVS shopping ctr. there is a Black man ( not a kid) that rides around on his bike that deals drugs..he rides around the entire shopping ctr.little creepy...i actually saw him hand off a bag w/ white stuff in it....where are the cops....no offense , you can see he doesnt belong to the neighborhood.....especially with his behavior ..always on pay phones and looking around......Keep your eyes open and be careful!

OXYCONTIN and PERCOCET are OPIATES and so is HEROIN. Naturally one leads to the other - WAKE UP PEOPLE! Adults and kids are addicted to opiates all over Long Island right before our eyes - your neighbor, your boss, your daughters best friend, your accountant, your babysitter, ect..... Open your eyes and start parenting your children asap before they are are in rehab and on methadone for life!

"I fight on a daily basis to save my son," she said, adding that he has been in drug rehab six times and is now in jail."

If she was there in the beginning and had been alert, there would have been no daily fight.

Singapore has the simple solution to drug abuse and dealing. Anyone caught with any amount of illegal drugs gets hanged.

Crime in Singapore in nonexistent.

My Opinion...What kind of car in Ronkonkoma? Any other details or places to look out for in this town? I have kids too. Too little to know about drugs, but its never too soon for parents to be informed of this info.

These are the most highly addictive drugs you can find. Especially the prescription drugs (almost more so than Heroin). You have to understand, the drugs speak louder than any parent can and so the best thing to do is isolate these kids and watch their every move. We've lost something in Suffolk County. A sense of community and family. And now with times being so tough - who has the time, but.... Just don't let your kids get bored because the drugs are out there and MOST kids are too dependant on their parents to know what a "right" decision is. Watch them, keep them safe, and don't blame everyone else. Everyone has a choice in life what they do - help them make the right choice and they could be sitting in a pile of drugs and never touch them.

The problem is the parents. These soccer moms and dead beat dads, DO NOT TEACH their own children. They blame the politicians, police and even worse, they blame teachers in the schools.

My parents taught 4 kids in the 60's and 70's and we learned about respect, consideration for others, right and wrong. But one of the most important things we learned when we were older was that we HAVE CHOICES. And our own choices can either have a bad effect or a good effect. Obviously these parents let these brats run a muck.

Send them to a military school, or use some parental supervision and a mandatory choice, either reab and clean yourself up or military school.

Teens today are lost. NO PARENTAL DIRECTION.

I blame the parents.

I would tend to agree with you for harsh penalties for drug dealing, but not for abuse.

But this country will not punish drug dealers to any great extent. American has become a country of wining wussies. Look at Vermont. Convicted child molesters are given sentences of three months probation.

After all, me must understand the feelings of drug dealers and empathize with their disenfranchisement and lack of empowerment is their social class!

It is called the "pussification of America."

And all honest, law abiding citizens are the victims.

This reminds me of sex education, parents donít want to teach and teachers canít teach because some parents donít want their kids to learn about that sort of stuff.. I hope you parents that covert your children till their 21 realize the harm you are doing to them.. Iím not saying you need to drown them in this stuff but introduce them and teach them. Kids are like sponges they soak it all up let your words soak in before theirs (dealers)

This is so true. As an addict I will tell you it's everywhere on long island and out of control and meth isn't even here yet. The new wave of drug and users is going to knock you off your seat

Itís called being alert and attentive to whatís going on. Something of which you know noting about. You must have been in denial when you got hit with reality. Not everyone toddles around obliviously.
