you're right another one, can't trust people like back in the days, governors, teachers, pastors, cops, doctors, babysitters, those are just titles and some wear suit and tie, people tend to show their character when one is given power and left alone. Nothing surprises me anymore.

What, you all think this is new? It's not. Technology and tracking got a heck of a lot better. This stuff's been going on for years.

Why are there so many of these freaks these days? I'll tell ya:

They were molested as kids- and probably by someone who had been caught and let go to do it again and again.

The best way to end the cycle is to keep pedophiles locked up forever the FIRST TIME they are caught!

This type of person disgusts me. My wife and I recently bought a house and we wanted to make sure we didn't purchase near a "known" sex convict. You wouldn't believe how many there are on Long Island. North Shore/South Shore - it didn't matter. They should be forced out of there homes by the community and onto the street so they can play with each other instead of our kids.

Why is it that dirtbags like this even GET the teaching jobs in these school districts and the rest of us Ed. majors have to interview everywhere, "pay our dues" and pray we "get in" somewhere to get a teaching job? Why is there so much incompetence when it comes to hiring honest, bright, and deserving teachers? Wake up America!

I don't believe the 'molestation' excuse...serial killers are born serial killers, child molesters are born child molesters...it's just a mistake in our genetic programs that could be weeded out if we forbid these people from reproducing...I say execute serial killers, castrate child molesters...

Another teacher! If only they allowed teachers to marry, if only they didn't have to be celibate! Oh wait, that is what everyone said when it was Catholic priests making the news.

Another job opening! English jobs are hard to find, too!

Imagine going to that interview..."Why is your previous teacher leaving the job?"

"Another teacher! If only they allowed teachers to marry, if only they didn't have to be celibate! Oh wait, that is what everyone said when it was Catholic priests making the news."

Yeah, notice that the police arrested him and he resigned his position.

There was no one to give him another job in another country, or a group of superiors to sign him into a "treatment program" to take care of his "health problem."

Gee, teachers are just like priests...oh, yeah, they're NOT!

There's no international ring of teacher-predators who still get paid by the School.

My nephew was molested by a teacher's aide in another state where he attends school, and guess what? They guy is in jail! The school district fired the administrators who hired him and did not take appropriate action when he was found to have behaved inappropriately and criminally. The administrators were fired because they did not act soon enough. So, schools are on top of the problem in many cases.

The Church creates a lot of committee meetings and "programs." Call the Diocese and ask how many times they've contacted the police, however, to report a problem with a priest. Hmmmm.

"when are the school districts and unions going to require training and background checks???"

State law requires fingerprinting and criminal background checks. All teachers undergo mandatory training for preventing school violence, and recognizing and reporting child abuse.

Teachers are mandatory reporters.

There is no computer check for home computers of people who consume child porn. Does your job do that?

And, no, I'm not a teacher, by the way.

Guess what...the security expert Gavin DeBecker claims that there is one (offender) per square mile in the entire US, not necessarily that they've all been caught.

You have to trust your instincts and teach your kids to trust theirs. DeBecker wrote a great book called "The Gift of Fear."

It is quite eye opening and also, very useful.
