mayor states im better than you

last town meeting nov 18 carl rohrig the mayor of neponset told an audience member i am better than you look at my house and my car and you know i am better than a lot of you people what are your thoughts on this comment and who voted for this person who calls himself a human being

I think Carl Rohrig is a legend in his own mind. If he thinks he impressed anyone he couldn't be more wrong.I agree with sugar mama, he should be removed from the council. His remarks show you he is not qualified to decide anything,cause he thinks his home, cars, etc. make him better. He is not council material to represent anyone. He might be to busy trying to hold up his fat opinion of himself.

The trailers bring people in this ghost town. Who decides who the "Better People" are? Maybe Carl Rhorig, the mayor who thinks he's better than others because he lives in a house. They should be glad someone wants to increase the population of a town that has nothing to offer....

I didn't make it to that meeting. Could someone tell me if any of the Board members agreed with the opinion made my Mayor Rohrig. I am talking about the "I am better than all of you townspeople..." comment. Or did ALL of the Board members include themselves in the Mayor's comment.

I was at that meeting any he never said anything like that. Quit stirring up the pot, the job is hard enough as it is without stupid comments like that causing people to get all up in arms.

Maybe my hearing is going, but I didn't hear Carl Rohrig make any inflamatory comments about "being better than" anybody. He said that his house (which is a built-from-scratch house and therefore subject to more property tax than a mobile home) was worth more than the pull-together of the angry man confronting him. The tax-man says the same thing, whether in Neponset or any other town. Please folks, if you're upset about something in Neponset, remember that it was Mayor Rohrig that brought back the opportunity for audience comments at the end of each town board meeting. Come to the meetings and offer your opinions in a reasonable manner. That's more effective than unsigned gripes in this forum.
