Where oh where have the water bill readings gone? Village Trustee Wayne Gerrond told the village board the readings for the June/July water bills “disappeared.” Trustee Tom Weeks questioned how the readings could get lost? Liars, are you the village attorney? Either way, I am intrigued by your replies. I am led to believe you have inside information when it comes to the town. A board member possibly? I realize meetings are open to the public. There's nothing taboo about the inner workings of the structure. But what I would like to know, if you do infact have the scoop, tell us roughly what we will be paying after the flat rate is imposed. The only reason I ask this is so I can prepare to take out a second mortgage to pay my water bill. As a matter of fact, if anyone tell me, please do.

I wish i had inside information. I also wish i had a lawyers salary. The lawyer doesn even live in Neponset and I have already told you that i am not a board member.

I have no idea what the amount of the bills would be under a flat rate. I imagine that they would just average the bills. Anyone go to the meeting last night?

Are they going to average the bills on the last few months that they haven't actually been read, or are they actually going to go house to house and read them to get the average bill???

I don't know that answer to that and its a fair question. That is one of the things that we should ask the board when they start seriously talking about this.

I am also curious whether the adverage includes the water usage for Martin's which i would image is significantly higher than any resident.

Martin does not have their own source, but they do have their own water line direct from the tower. Who knows what this board will do. They don't seem to know haw to handle any major problem.

Lets abandon the water tower, or just give it over to Martins. Then lets all drill separate wells for water. Meanwhile, as our backyards are all tore up, lets reconnect to our septic tanks. When it comes to our weekly trash, we'll burn it or recycle it. Ahhh, no more bills from the village. Then they wouldn't have to worry about losing something that was never there.

good news neponset school has been named one of the top in illinois, bad news named the toplow income school. if 70 percent of the kids r low income that means 70 percent of the town and that only counts the families with children .add in the elderly and the unemployed and the number is much higher. then we get outrageous water bills on top of all this. how are we to be expected to keep up without losing our power or even our homes?
someone can u answer this question???

What better then everyone attitude. My comment only illustrated that we are provided a forum to voice complaints when it is not required. It also provided an option for those of us that want time to discuss a problem by being put on the agenda. Everyone who is complaining about this needs to spend a little time in the shoes of a public servant. It is a hard job people, they are doing the best they can with little resources available.
btw, I am better than many of my fellow Neposetians. So you're right that I do have that attitude, it just was not evident by my earlier statement.
When you die, will you take anything with you off this earth. No! So what makes, you better than your fellow man. We all are the same. Some are just a little different.
Also, I don't live there. But I have a friend who does. He is close to the council. And said they have several people. Who were involved in the meter reading and bills. Also, does or doesn't Martins pay for it's water? I hear not!!! Correct me if wrong! But you said Neponset---had some nice trailers. Then you said, the area where the Palmer house (was), needed to be removed. Now, I have been in town many times. Isn't that where all the nice trailers are? Because I, don't remember too, many others in town. And for the people, who live in trailers. We all have to live some place. So don't knock trailers, till you have been there. But do you pay taxes on your trailer? I lived in a trailer for a number of years. We never payed taxes on the unit, just the ground it was on. I live in a nice house, now. But I pay ungodly taxes for it. I throw no stones. I just ask that no one is better than anyone else. And look for the truth!!!!!!!!!!

HA!HA! It might be cheaper than the water bills, but just as bad as the water for your health.
