If you don't like how high your bill is use less water. Try drinking from a ditch or drink out of windmont

with all the money they get from this city for water bills i think they should have been able to keep our streets cleaner plain and simple, there is no reason we should still have ice on our roads, sorry to get off topic, just sayin, i have asked before how do we get help with issues like water bills being high and streets not being cleared properly??

<quoted text>Your full of crap if your water ran for 30 hrs and it was only $275. Blow smoke somewhere else, because I don't believe that. Mine runs around $200. to $250. for the cycle (two months). I have the new didgital meter that if a drop goes throught it, it reads it. So the city tells me. We have checked for leaks both city and myself but nothing. Water bill use to be around $85 when I first mover in to this house. But slowly went up to $175, then 2 yrs ago when they put on this new meter....WOW.
We wash full loads of laundary, not parts. 2 baths a day...more in the summer. Water bushes and plants in the summer but still not much difference in the bill from summer to winter. So I live with it. It's part of my budget, it if goes under $200. I get happy and run to mck...d's and buy a burger. Thats only happened once in two yrs.
Whoops! Sorry didn't mean to put 30 hours. I meant to say 3-4 hours. And yes my water bill usually around $100 give or take $20. I guess having efficient appliances and not taking 20 min. showers helps.

5 adults...3 kids... with using the shitter, washing 2 loads of laundry a day, and dishwasher running every other day, and our teens taking 2 showers a day, our bill has been $190 at its highest. I am amazed at how high some of you peoples water bills can exceed $200 !! Your either getting royally screwed or y'all have a bad leak somewhere ??? It also helps if you don't flush your toilet every time you piss.

We flush it every time we shyt... but normally the third person that takes a piss flushes the toilet under them circumstances. I guess I needed to clarify exactly how we save water at our house. Would anyone like to know how much booty wipe we use too ???

I have the newer digital meter. I don't take 20 minute shower, and neither do my other family members. We flush every time, I think, lol. Normal laundry, prob. 6-7 loads a week. We do buy drinking water from Wal-Mart, but I doubt that really makes a difference. And we have a 6 month old dishwasher. I'm not really doing anything out of the ordinary!!

Your actually putting yourself further in the hole by buying drinking water from walmart. Buying water from the store has to be about the biggest scam of the century. Read up on it !!

Considering the old pipes in my house(100+ yrs old), why wouldn't you buy drinking water? I'm not saying its toxic, but I had it tested, and it wasn't the best(drinkable). The newer Reverse Osmosis system the city is using is actually releasing a lot of the lime and carbon built up in my 100+ yr old pipes.

Thats what I keep telling the city about my meter.
That something is wrong but they say no.
I had them pull it and test it up town. They brought it back and said it was o.k. When I ask about how they tested it. I was told they have a way to test it, thats it. I was told they would send it in to be tested but I had to pay for it.
Then whos to say it would get sent in! or just sit on the shelf and not tested!
Thats o.k. because if they pass this new gun law in the state. I plan to move out of state and change jobs. " get a transfer from my company".
So I won't worry about the water bill being high.
Water bill is bad enough, but that new gun law will kill this state.
Last one out of this state please turn off the lights. Because no one will be here to pay the bills!

The higher your bill is, the more money for the city. Having the city test your meter is like having the fox guard the hen house ! I don't think the city would intentionally screw you, I believe tho, that they could really care less if your equipment is working properly, if its to thier advantage. If you had a large family and your bill was only 50 bucks every pay period, they would send in the FBI to investigate tho !!! I had a house that nobody lived in for probably 6 mths. There was absolutely no water usage during this time. I still had to pay 45 bucks every bill, just to have the service at the house !! CRAZY !!

I just received a letter from city hall requesting me to set up an appointment for someone to check my meter. If I don't then I will be charged triple the rate. I had this new meter installed a little over a year ago. Anyone else get a letter?
