I interned with Lonnie at the Defender's Office (1984-1986) while attending Eastern Illinois University. Because of his giudance and knowledge of the law, I attended Law School at SIU. When I graduated, I moved to Michigan and began a solo practice specializing criminal defense. Lonnie taught me how to deal with the people involved in the legal system. (Including the Judge, defendant, prosecutor and police officers) He taught me things that I did not learn in Law School. Lonnie was a great mentor to me and I am glad that he is still there to help others. Learn from him everything that you can.

“Are you serious?”

Lonnie is an excellent atty and very funny. There's something about Lonnie that will keep you coming to him for guidance. Very friendly.

Lonnie is a Military veteran with honors, Lutz is a fair man, and he also knows the law and respects it. He is from Coles county Illinois, and he should replace judge Mitchell K Shick. We need someone who is not narrow-minded, someone that listen to both sides of a case and cares about people of Coles County. Lonnie Lutz would be that man.

I like Lonnie Lutz; he is very intelligent and would make a good judge. I hope he runs, because I would vote for him. I think one of the main reasons I like him, is that he cares about people of Coles County.

lonnie is a good guy but he has to big of case load to do his job like it should be done.it seems to me that the courts in coles,co finds u guilty till proven otherwise.as a person that did a crime and went though the system i seen the inconsistent and sometimes unlawful(in my opinion)verdicts that some people got.everytime i saw lonnie which was the day before court he didnt remember my case or what we talked about till he read though my whole file and i refreashed him on our plans.nothing against lonnie but i felt i wasnt being represented in a just way.dont get me wrong i did the crime and i have no hard feelings as i know what i did but seeing people walk on more serious crimes just because they are a local lawyers kid and getting special treatment from jail staff after being brought in twice for drugs within a 2 month period or the guy that had a dad that just happend to be close friends with judge shick and got 1 yr court sup. for a felony higher then mine!we both 1st time offinders and no priors and i get 2 year doc while this other guy gets a get out of jail free card.lonnie knows that things arent the way they should be and i belive if he was judge he would try to make things run as they should.but right now coles co does what coles co wants and you better have money if u want a fair trial.
FAIR GUY

I believe Lonnie definately has too much of a caseload. I, too, know that Coles Co does what Coles Co wants and that the legal system here is not at all consistent. "Innocent until proven guilty". Give me a break! Not here, it's "Guilty until proven innocent" and that's only the case if you have friends in high places. If you've ever been in trouble before, Coles Co does NOT believe a person can change, therefore will use everything from your past to screw you even harder. If Lonnie sees how corrupt the system is here and would be fair to all, then more power to him.

He is horrible. No one can meet with him unless they are a woman and then he feels like he can molest them. I have a friend that has him and he isn't even working to try to help him!!! I have proof of sexual harrasment and neglect on his clients! I might have gotten in trouble but at least I got a great lawyer that helps me out and thank God he isn't Lonnie Lutz!

Hey " yeah right "....I have seen Lutz in action in court, I was shocked the judge didn`t admonish him for acting like such a fool. All that needs to be done to put Lutz in 7th heaven is put a young trampy gal next to him, pushing her breasts in his face and giggle a bit at his jokes and that does it for him. What I saw in court one day was shameful, is he a married man?
This gal, jact, when one acts like that so much of the time our actions come back to bite us in the butt, huh????
Want to talk about a crooed county? Leave me your email address and I can tell you an earful.

If you've been in drug court for three your either a snitch or a liar.
