I personally dont see a big deal in it.they are not in anyones yard and what goes on behind closed doors is none of anyones bussiness.there would be no difference if i brought a few women home and had a bunch of dollars its my bussiness.nodody is forced in going.dont like it dont go

I have heard many things and believe that once something like this comes to town our children will be in danger.
1. The name is revolting - it is an attraction for perverts, child molestors, pornography, etc.
2. The young women are dress to play the part of young school girls - need I say more. We need to protect our communities and our children.
3. This is tasteless - disgusting - immoral.
4. If it's such a good idea why did Travis and Bob decide to have it in different counties from their homes. Why isn't it in Effingham and Coles County?
5. It is the start of a destruction of the community - the perverts that will be attracted to the location from the interstates and surrounding areas and the children are going to be subjected to "unwanted" individuals in the community.
Think people - this is going to backfire - and why did they chose a "COUNTY" different than where they live.
How would you feel if it were in your backyard and neighborhood?
Think - wake up - and remember East St. Louis - do we need an East St. Louis in Rural America.

It is an old school, I went there as a kid; hence the name. The only people bitching seem to be old women. And you should have no say in this.

not all people going to that place are perverts or child molestors! I am a stay at home mother happily married and yet I love to go in those places! I can not wait until I get the chance to go over there! Its a name get over it! Your children will be fine! Are you going to have your children over there? Nope dont think so! So what if they dress like school girls? Its cute and sexy! Hell there are tons of adult women who wear those outfits for Halloween. Are you out protesting them? How come all you see is the news talking to old people? I think its a great way to bring money in to the community. Now lets think of something else...you asked why they didnt have it in there home countys...well neoga is in between effingham and coles county so they will attract business from Effingham and Coles. Duh!
It will be ok...no one will be harmed. The more the news are out there and the more people talk about it all it does is show people who didnt know it was there where its at. Its kinda like free publicity. All i see is old people saying how bad it is...well its not bad. Its fun entertainment. Its a fun way for men and women to let loose and have some fun. They are not out in the street they are in a building. Simple you do not like it...do not go in! But really just because people go in does not make them bad people!

I think that Kelli Rigdon Connell and her husband Marc Diveley will do a fine job managing the School House. They both have vast experience in the strip business with Kelli being a dancer herself and Marc working security.

Give them a chance folks!

Ok, so like they are turning an old school house into a strip club. Making is visible to advirtise to the interstate. Why would people think that more might start to spring up? idk, convience maybe. If i could spell better probably be better but hey. We can build another hotel/motel. Get local bars involved. Make Contests, Sell T-shirts!!
The naked running around at times should be great!!
Should get the community in a vibrant and strengthened mood. Heck, i dont drive no more. Finally able to just maybe just on a walk around some where being able to see some naked should go great. Always need something to do on some weekends, sshhh...might even call in on a day or two during the week.
Still, dont matter to me much, i'd rather say nay about the how thing, but hey. Whatever floats your boat.

Most people are idiots! To the ones saying that it shouldnt be there, you realize the type of revenue that place will consume? It will attract people from all over illinois and help the community actually because the county will tax it and make a killing off of it...Which in turn will help your community.

Just because they have it in an old school doesnt mean anything...the building was probably cheap and it offered them a new theme for popularity..i would much rather buy an old building then have to build one!

I have traveled there since it has opened. I like the place but I have noticed it is not as nearly as busy as it was when it opened. I guess the novelty has worn off.

As far as the post made on that club and taxes. They don't sell anything other than sex and I doubt anyone will claim that on their taxes. No alcohol is sold there so again no taxes are collected.

The $15 cover charge is the only revenue they MIGHT claim but I imagine that will be 50% at best that is claimed.

I seriously doubt that place will be considered an asset to the town insofar as a tax revenue source.

for one people dont realize, that by complaing and different stuff like that. all they are doing is advertising them. i dont see a problem with having a strip club in town. not like im going to go there but its your business rather or not you go. they are not saying you have to go. its out of town if it was right in town yeah that would be a totally a different story.

People need to direct their focus to more important issues that really matter and realize that all folks don't necessarily have the same core values and religious beliefs as you. Stop throwing your bible at folks...if you don't want to go to this place then don't...pretty easy solution. To blame a strip club for bringing drugs, prostitution and other criminal activity to town are ludicrous. The fact that other towns and counties are scrambling to put ordinances in place just seems silly to me. I have been to these types of places only a few times in my life and they are a fun way for folks (men and women) to relax and enjoy some adult entertainment. That's right...adult entertainment...21+ years of age people. Ligthen up, stop being prudes and let these folks run their business and let the ladies make some money for their families. Enough is enough!!!

I heard there was a big fight at the Gntlemen's club and that the interior has been trashed. I haven't heard any details and don't know who was fighting or why. Maybe the gentlemen were fighting over the student dancers!! Do you think they were kung foo fighting? It could be that the protesters were fighting to get in and see the show.

What I heard was on Friday the business was very slow. The manager and a dancer left the club and went to Effingham to drum up business.

A group of men came into the club and immediately started to cause trouble. They harrassed a few dancers, all the while the doormen just stood and watched the action.

Then all hell broke loose and the place got torn up including the stage. One dancer was thrown into a table. After it was over the place was so trashed they had to close.

I think it's retribution for something?
