It was interesting.... they did have a lot to say... most of the canidates just praised the city but I thought that Caflisch stood out in the crowd for sure!

Most of the candidates and a lot of people around town bad mouth Micky and the city when they're not around. Even friends of some of the commissioners bad mouth them behind their back. Makes you wonder what they'll do on their ballot.

It should be clear to everyone that if Caflisch and Stichman are elected, things at city hall will change. Unruh can either get on board, or sit by grumbling on the sidlines, but change for the better is possible IF Stichman and Caflisch are elected together. It will not be because of revenge or personal advancement as some have suggested, but rather from a love of their community and desire to advance the city in a positive direction. Voters nmeed to understand that this will not happen if they elect Ned and Tim, or Leonhard and Phillip, it must be by electing Ned and Leonhard as a team. That will be a majority vote that is needed to put the city leadership on notice that they either shape up, or ship out.

Unruh will become irrelevant IF we elect two commissioners who think like us, the taxpayers; the two of them can out-vote him despite the goods Micky Webb is trying to peddle to the commission.

IF we elect Chappuie or Meier or White, Unruh can vote with any one of them and create a 2-1 majority vote. The financial irresponsibility and poor management may go on and there is little doubt Micky Webb will use his influence to continue to do his counter-productive (and sneaky) bidding.

If you haven't registered to vote, of course you can't vote on Tuesday, but you can encourage other registered voters you know to vote. The IMPORTANT thing is for everyone who can vote to vote so we can get things moving in a positive direction again. The time has come for us to take back our Independence and the only way we can do it is through the ballot box. YOU CAN VOTE NOW THROUGH NOON ON MONDAY AT THE COURTHOUSE. AFTER NOON ON MONDAY, YOU CAN VOTE AT YOUR DESIGNATED POLLING PLACE.

Tim White basically told the forum that Micky calls him almost daily, and meets seperately with the current commissioners passing on information on what the others feel to void an open meetings violation. Ned and Leonhard will not participate in the meetings before the meetings and will do the city's business in the open in the commission meeting. If Derril wants to have caviar and crackers with Micky, then have at it.

what's the big deal about webb calling white to pass on information?every city manager has to do the same thing or face an open meetings violation. it's great ned and leonhard will include the public on some discussions especially the big ticket items.timmy, ricky, derrill, and micky bought crescent oil behind our backs and won't hold a public meeting where everyone can get answers about it.that whole mess would have gone better if micky and his three stooges asked the public for their ideas before they wasted hundred thousand of our bucks on buying a beat up piece of crap that won't work unless we dump hundreds of thousands more into it.i agree we need two people to outnumber mickys man unruh.

So everything can be decided before the meeting - reason for open meeting laws. Way crooks operate. Use White to get his way and have it decided.

I think property purchases can be made by a commission without telling the public first. Since something like that is going to cost taxpayers a lot of money for a lot of time maybe the laws should change so that kind of thing has to be disclosed before something is bought. I know sometimes these deals work best if kept quiet from the public but maybe some of them are deals that aren't going to be good for the public anyway. Every time I see an empty buidling I'm afraid Tim White is going to talk the city into buying it. I hope he gets kicked out so we all don't have to worry about that ever again.

At the forum last night all the candidates talked about bringing new jobs and businesses, and economic development here. Before I decide on my vote I'd like to know their specific ideas for bringing those things here.Tim White has had years to do it and he's done nothing. How do we know the other people if elected won't do the same? They have had a lot of time to think about this and get some details together.Maybe they'll take out an ad and give us the details before next Tuesday's vote because if they don't they may be doing what all politicians do.Promise things but don't have the slightest idea what they'd do to make those promises come true.I've had enough of that.

Due to KDOT member leaveing and Mr WEBs attempt to redirect protocal approval has now dropped the ball. The purpose of the 9.3% sales tax increase was to start west main in March 2013. Main street project has now been re-set for 2014, can the commissioners explain this?

Agreed the questions were about as specific as they could be and still apply to everybody. Thought Dr. Dan was good - could hear him ok (same cant be said for the others), and he knew we were there to hear from the candidates.

Yes, when the city clerk swears them into office.
