Could anyone tell me a little about the conditions in Neodesha. My family lives there and we have not heard anything from anyone the last couple of days.

Thanks!

I lived in Independence until last March. From the folks I have spoken with Neodesha was hit pretty hard. There have been no reports of death in the area, a good thing. Might I suggest that you contact the Neodesha, Kansas, police. I hope things are well upon contact with your folks. This web site will not let me post the Neodesha police phone number, sorry.

I know you are worried, but there have been no deaths in the flood there that I know of. Things are really bad otherwise though. Go to youtube.com , type in "Neodesha Flood" or "Neodesha, KS Flood" & it will bring up videos of it there plus surrounding towns. I live in Cherryvale (about 25 miles to the southeast of Neodesha). We were lucky, as far as I know we are about the only town in the area that did not flood, but we were somewhat marooned on our own little island, so to speak! I'm sure they're fairing about as well as the rest of the people there. Last I heard they had no fresh water or electricity, & I imagine there's no (or not much) phone service either. They were luckier than Coffeyville (south of us). Coffeyville has to deal not only with the flooding, but also a great deal of oil spillage.

As the other poster stated, try calling the Neodesha PD for info on your family.
Good Luck,
Donna

All of the water is back in the banks of the river. The city was hit hard. I live on North 7th by the high school and my house flooded for the first time. House is 90 to 100 years old. I do not know who your family is. If you do not know how there are.
With a name I could find out for you.
