Why is it they have to place the poles out in the street ?? They put in a pole or a curb, then put in the road to go by them only by a foot or two. Just go look at the NEW turn off main steet at western or basin Auto. After putting it lots&lots of tax money we have just about the same thing. Why, do we have all the streets in town 90o that a car or pu can make it OK but any thing bigger has to run over the curb to make the turn.Go out and look at the tire rubs on the curbs on any place in town. When they hit a pole, why not set it back off the street? OH WELL IT'S only TAX MONEY.

Hmm, I was hoping for some night shots as I saw a crew there at 6:30pm-ish and had a fun situation when the stoplights lost power.

Most of these poles have been set before the roads are widened. Then after the the pole gets set the property owners will not lets companies move them. That is just a couple of reesons why poles ar placed were they are.

WHY can't some of the poles that are in the way, be put back a few feet off the street? Maybe they could put them under ground on some roads. I know the city has a right of way for them that maybe 35foot. 5ft or 6ft back would be a big help. I don't feel they care if a pole is hit today, they would replace it in the road even if it killed some one in the past. How about some be put in the Alleys and not on the roads. I know this is lots of money in old parts of town, but why do they ask for the same in new parts just going in?
