Too bad it's going through the Wayne National Forest, what a waste of natural resource and wildlife habitat. Why didn't this go the other direction and bypass the woods?

Well God forbid we don't put cars first ahead of everything else...

"The Nelsonville bypass is the final stretch of a larger modernization, including the new Lancaster bypass in Fairfield County, to transform Rt. 33 into a safer, limited-access four-lane highway from Columbus to Ravenswood, W. Va."
Except that it is not a limited-access four-lane highway from Columbus past I-270; nor past Athens through Pomeroy! |

Woods are woods just because one side has the name “ Wayne National Forest” makes it no more important then the unnamed woods across the street. The real loss will be the finical one felt by the citizens of Nelsonville.
