It would be interesting how people in MA would look after being stuck in a city with no water, electricity, services, and food for several days? For someone so far from what actually happened to make assumptions about his fellow Americans is a symptom of the problems created by the radio host pundits who spill out mis-information as if it were facts. Possibly knowing that all people in the United States Gulf Coast are not on welfare would amaze you and that all people of all races, creeds, and economic status were trapped regardless of what you think. Many college students of the several universities were also trapped, along with doctors, lawyers, and professionals of all kinds. I do not wish such a disaster would befall you or your area but with an attitude like yours sympathy from me would be a hard thing to arrange. Hundreds of thousands of people in the Gulf Coast were displaced for months, some for years, all Americans, all tax payers, a substantial majority not on welfare. To express that attitude toward your fellow countrymen is un-American and un-Christian. You need to attend Sunday School this weekend and seek some lessons on compassion.

$7.7 billion on housing for about 1.4 million households

When this much money is spent on people who have still not rebuilt their homes, or their lives, something is definitely wrong. It seems to me that as long as you take care of these people they will keep holding out their hands for more.

I think it's time to release them from the government tit and tell them it's time to either swim or sink.

With such a grasp of figures and lack of facts it is no wonder you are prone to bad assumptions. You assume that all of the several thousand Americans devastated by the largest natural disaster in the US history are sitting around waiting for some government handout. Yet most of those thousands have rebuilt or moved on with little or no help from FEMA. Possibly rather than sitting in MA at your computer finding bad information to spit out you could travel to the area and see first hand the damages and the rebuilding. Where I grew up, we in America take care of our own and show compassion to those harmed by no fault of their own. A lesson put to great use when earthquakes, fires, floods, storms, or snow destroy an American town or city.

I Just want Observing to know that I think you are pitiful! Hurricane Katrina devistated so many people, including my family. We were forced out by the hurricane itself, FEMA refused to let us in for over a month and my house was badly damaged. FEMA only gave my imediate family a check for $2000.00 whoopdy doo! I never got another red cent, nor did I expect one. I immediatly found work in Many, LA, purchased a used trailer, eventualy bought land and now that years have past I can finaly afford a new trailer. I have had to start my life completly over! Did you offer to help my family find a temporary home until I could re-enter my own? Did you send food to my family when we had none? Did you furnish my family with furniture because mine was destroyed? NO! The AWESOME people of Many, Louisiana did! This entire community was there for us when we needed help. And in turn my family cooked for the churches and volunteers that housed people temporarily when Hurricane Rita devistated North Louisiana only weeks later. I pray you never have to go through what has taken my family years to recover from.

Why do we continuously hear about Katrina?
Do we hear about the people in Florida who were hit by FOUR hurricanes in the same damn season?
Do we hear from Mississippians bitching and constantly complaining?
What about Alabamians who were slammed as well?
Poor pitiful helpless New Orleans. You know why the gov't turns away? Easy! Because NOLA residents, who bitch, refuse to help themselves.
Many have moved on. Many have rebuilt with what they had. Many have gotten jobs. Many have got off their asses and done everything they could possibly do to get themselves out of this sad situation.
GOD=you are the master of your own destiny.
Rita hit my parents home. We got up when the winds died down and cleaned up the mess. We did not ask for $$$$$$$$$$ and help.
Example=one Katrina NOLA resident sued for 3.2 QUADRILLION and another for 6 TRILLION.
This is not asking for help. This is insanity.
NOLA is filled with corruption, violence, murder, drugs, witchcraft, voodoo, and the list continues.
Nagin could have done something to help his city but instead do what blacks do best. Sit on their asses and yell for help. They have NO CLUE about life's coping skills.

I worked my ass off for you people 90days straight 12 hours per day 7 days per week.

I also worked Rita for 60 days 12 hours per day 7 days per week.

Its interesting all the f*cking taxes we pay. and the honest people don't get any help. Thank GOD for the Salvation ARMY, Larry Jones Feed The Children. This past Christmas season, when I see the red kettles. I give whatever, I can and feel truly BLESSED. After the May 3rd, 1999 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma. It seemed like every Oklahoman was helping out those folks before FEMA. I donate 4 cases of 6 1 gallon bottles of water = 24 gallons total of water. KFOR NBC 4, KOCO ABC 5, and KWTV CBS 9, all in Oklahoma City had Feed The Children trailer. went to channel 4, and their trailer was so full we were sent down the road to channel 5. So at Channel 5 and it was nice to make a donation. almost 2 weeks later, went to the Salvation Army warehouse south of Crossroads Mall and spent 3 hours doing some warehouse work, breakfast was provided, or in the case lunch. FEMA is a joke.

Katrina victims neglected themselves and that is the bottom line. What person would stand still while a monster hurricane approaches?

Once again, blacks wait for someone else to help them. They haven't a clue how to help themselves.

This is why racism still exists. Whites are tired of hearing the excuses, and black don't know any other way to live, except yell racism to get FREE ASSISTANCE.

yet, at the same token. everyone looted a wal-mart, in New Orleans after Katrina. hahaha!! even the New Orleans Police helped out. I saw this on CNN, while on vacation in Reno, Nevada. You have to do what you can for survival. if that was me, I would have done the same thing.

A lot of what was shown on TV was misleading. The facts were as the water came up and electricity went out the Head Manager at Wall Mart got permission from the corporate HQ to open the store to anyone and let them come in to get supplies for free. The store was not being looted at all. Wal-Mart wanted to allow people without food, water, clean clothing, etc to come in as the items in the store would be ultimately discarded as spoiled goods. The Manager made that statement publicly but CNN never covered that part of the story. In fact Wal-Mart was one of the corporate groups that immediately went into action and sent trucks of water, food, clothing to the affected area for free distribution. Wal-Mart was doing a good deed and CNN ran it on TV like a bad thing the people were doing. I think all over the US people saw part and pieces of the full story and thought only the bad not knowing what was actually going on. The entire CNN coverage was slanted and not an accurate picture of what happened. Few people looted, most places open doors so those who were sitting in water for about a week with no food, water, cloths could get supplies. All those places would have had to discard the goods as spoiled after the flood, and people were actually without food and drinking water for days. The owner/manager of those places did a good deed so people could live and not die. The camera did not tell the entire story.

Where was his ass before the hurricane? Just another attempt at destroying blacks! Why does he not put them to work? Oh, I'm sorry, work is an insult to those waiting for more hand-outs and freebies from FEMA.

The welfare class, single mother group is interesting.I saw CNN coverage of them gathered at the Super Dome.Hungry infants,no formula,no diapers ---SMOKING THEY CIGARETTES. too stupid to pack a diaper bag and a six pack of formula. They couldn't believe the Feds weren't immediately there with a diaper and a bottle of formula.Must be the evil George Bush's fault; 'cause he hates blacks. With Obama in power;their faith has been restored.Won't pack a diaper bag next time either.

I know Katrina was a bad deal, but get over it already. Rita was just as bad as Katrina, yet you do NOT here ANYTHING mentioned about Rita. those people just took what mother nature gave, and then went back to rebuilding on their own. they aren't whining about the gov. not helping them.

The sad part of Katrina are the good people everyone posting here has forgotten.
The governor of Louisiana and the mayor of New Orleans neglected the sick and the elderly.
I watched as over a million people poured into my community and then took fema and governemnt money and go shopping at Wal Mart for 32 inch televisions and jewelry.
They were told that no matter what they would recieve help however long it takes.
I worked at a Casino and rather then use the money they were given for a emergency.
They went to the craps table and the slot machines and spents millions of dollars there.
They lost everything and then what little money they had went into the pockets of casino's dirty bookstores and buying three thousand doller rims and stereos.
All the while let their distaste for those of us smart enough not to live behind levees like crap.
It was so bad with the armed robberies that while a nursing home was unloading their patients they were actually robbed in the parking lot of the nursing home.
People were roaming the community night and day stealing everything that wasn't nailed down.
These people turned my community into a lawless murder prone community.
They were kidnapping people at our local mall and forcing them to give them their pin numbers and emptying their bank accounts.
All the while without electricity I stayed up all night to make sure they didn't break in and murder us.
My neighbor had a generator in their backyard chained to a post.
They woke up in the money and the generator was gone.
They cut the lock and it was gone in the night.
Yes these people are racists and hate everyone not from their community.
The hotels who took them in became havens for dope dealers, hookers robbers and murderers.
These people moved into hotel rooms and then reduced them to rubble.
Destroying the furniture punching holes in walls into the room next door.
These people are the scourge of society and have made every city they inhabit dangerous.
They smile to your face but don't forget if someone says they are from New Orleans keep your hand on your wallet and the emergency exit in sight at all times.
I sold my home this last novemeber and left after the murders started getting closer to my neighborhood.
They have no respect for anyone but what they want and they want it right now.
So it is time to stop feeding them and housing these worthless pos human being racism is something they use against everyone else to get what they want.
If they don't get what they want they will rise up and riot and burn that community to the ground.
They are like spoiled rotten little kids waiting for any excuse to destroy the world around them.
Look at Detroit don't see anyone moving there in any hurry.
Ray Nagin would love to see a chocolate city but the sad point is tourism is down due to the murders.
People will not move to or bring a business to a place where the people openly slaughter each other and the law doesn't hold them accountable.
Etnic diversity isn't it wonderful the race card don't leave home without it.
They have been on the government welfare for almost 4 years and still refuse to take care of themselves.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Scorpio

Your thoughts turn to the past today, putting you in a nostalgic mood. You're awash with sentimental tears as you dwell on days gone by or gaze at photos of people you'll never see again. However, try not to let this mood of reminiscence turn into a tendency to feel sorry for yourself and therefore to demand special treatment from others.
