People in Vidor are rude as hell, the women are all on drugs and have attitude problems, the walmart in Vidor sucks its a good place to get into a fight with someone. Lots of meth and crack problems I swear all the young people 32 and younger are drugheads with records. Vidor is hell on earth and good decent people should not even associate with these lowlife vidorians!

This is a terrible assessment. I've got to say that I have never seen a fight at WalMart (as a matter of fact, I've never been in a WalMart with a greeter and cashiers as sweet as the ones in Vidor WalMart), that I'm a woman under 32 and I'm not on drugs nor do I have any sort of record...I go to work every day like I'm supposed to, I raise my family like I'm supposed to. My 'guy' has all of his teeth. I'm not saying that there are no issues in Vidor or that I think it is one of America's top ten places to live but I am saying that there are worse places to be from. The crime rate is very low, the school systems are great, there are nice neighborhoods (as well as less fortunate neighborhoods like ALL cities in the Golden Triangle), nice people and the community pulls together (have you ever been in town for a Homecoming parade/game?). In college I lived in Beaumont and even in Nederland and although Vidor has less to offer (but cheaper taxes)than bigger cities such as those...I'd rather be surrounded by the small town hospitality than to be worried about walking down the street at night or worry about getting mugged leaving the grocery store or have to worry about my kids getting influenced or involved with things like gangs or criminal behavior. If you are unhappy...there are so many other places to go that are close-by. I understand that there is trash in Vidor but I also understand that there is trash anywhere. Go away!

Vidor is low income and it really shows and I know for a fact everyone under 32 is either a crackhead or a methhead, look at the market basket parking lot at night on the weekends, all the kids go there to do their drug dealing and I think Vidor PD needs to patrol that parking lot on the weekends. Oh and go to the Waffle House nothing but crackheads there. Beaumont people are rude as hell to all the women in that city are looking for a damn handout, I am currently saving up my money so I can get outta this godforsaken hellhole if I play my cards right sometime next year I will be living in the Dallas suburbs, fuk Vidor trashy inbred redneck town when I am driving outta this town I will be sure and give everyone the finger.

I have been around the Vidor area all my life. There are some very upper-class areas of Vidor called Wexford Park. It is a beautiful neighborhood with curbed streets and everyone is helpful and friendly. I go to Walmart quite frequently and I will admit everyone that works there is very nice and professional. I have been in there were I have smelled stinky women who wear terry-cloth shorts that are cut too high but maybe that's all they have. Vidor like all towns has it's issues and problems but there are churches on every corner of this town and they are nice. Maybe trying a church out in Vidor would help. The schools are not bad as I don't hear of any problems reported in Vidor. I live off Orange Street and it's not bad. There are some apartments on Orange Street that are getting repaired and some very nice people are moving back in. Just give Vidor a chance ! It's not as bad as some people make it out to be......the only thing I would wish for is that some of the residents would bathe.....it's very annoying to go to Walmart or the grocery store and have to smell stinky body odor whether it be men or women....that's my only complaint. This town is great and it has alot to offer young families that are looking to get in on the ground floor of a growing friendly little town !!

I would have to agree with Justin on Wexford Park not comparing to surrounding towns upper class. I have been a resident of Vidor for 34 years and of Wexford for the last 3 years. Absolutely amazing neighborhood. The people are friendly and everyone watches out for their neighbor. We hardly ever even lock our doors, I leave my jeep out with no top or doors on it and have never had a problem. I have several friends that graduated from college with me that live in the "upper class" neighborhoods in Beaumont and Lumberton and they are scared to leave their garage door open and run inside to grab a snack.

Guess it depends on the company you keep while here. which can be the same in any town. I have several close friends that I have been friends with for many years and our educations levels range from high school drop outs to doctrines. These ladies and gentlemen are all residence of Vidor, don't mess with drugs, are top wage earners in their selected industry and all choose Vidor because it is a great place to live and raise a family. So does education level really have anything to do with the town?

I can tell you that Mr. Archie is one of the happiest people in the world and you couldn't ask for a nicer door greater at the local Walmart. He is a retired gentleman that doesn't have to work but enjoys his job tremendously and it shows.

I have to say that with Vidor being pretty much neg less, I do feel safer there than Beaumont. I always stop in Vidor when passing through. Even the McDonalds is neg less, at least every time I have been inside. No negs, lower crime rate. It can't be a coincidence.

the fair question is have you ever been to any walmart and taken a look at the people? there is an entire website (or two) designed to entertain people by the fun people who go into walmart. Your point is null and void!

Terry all I can say is you are a idiot.....anyone who reads what you wrote automatically know that (1) you have no clue about Vidor or its situation,(2) your a bitch, and last but not least,(3) that you and your kids are most likely the judgmental type p.o.s that our great town don't want here anyway.....so with that said u can keep ur ass in BMT or where ever u call home and remember these words here.........fuk off and keep ur nose out of visors business trick.....

Typical ignorant, low-no class, trailer trash, cousin loving, hillbilly, white trash response I would expect from a resident of Vidor, Tx.

Texas seems to be a trashy place to live no matter where you go. There's too many illegal mexicans here. The playgrounds are trashed, the beaches are trashed. Texas is just nasty. I've only been here for 2 weeks and I've already seen more trash here than in any other state I've been to...and I've been all over the USA.
