I began working at Clearwater Ranch in Philo from Fall, 1980 as a child care worker. I was involved when the residential program moved from Philo to Cloverdale in the mid-80s under the directorship of Dr. Sean Faire. Somewhere, among my paperbacks, I have a paperback book that was written about Clearwater Ranch and it's beginnings... I have recently found myself reflecting on this important and formative experience in my own development. A google search led me to your forum...

I was there in the early 80's, I left before the move. at that time, Richard Hall was Director. I would love to see pictures of the ranch, then and now, it's almost like it never existed. A major cornerstone in my life, and some times it feels like I made it up in my head <laughs>

I worked at CWR 1967 thur 69 in Cloverdale, I traveled to other areas Philo and Petuluma and worked by taking my horse and pony show which consisted of things we made out of clay and paintings, the children always enjoyed thoses creative times and the items they made were needless to say very very orginial. A heart felt experience which Ill cherish for ever. PS Im still playing with pottery in Oregon.

I was at Clearwater Ranch from about 1970 thru 1973. A little hard for me however there were several counselors that helped me a lot. The last year I was allowed to go to Andersen Vallley Elementary.

Does anyone remember the earlier times, in the 1950's, when Clear Water Ranch welcomed my autistic son?

I was at Town House on Hearn Ave Santa Rosa CA in 79 - 05/01/81 (I remember the exact day I left as it was my 18th B-day). Richard Hall was in charge. Living there was some of the best days of my life. Town House was an expermental emancipitation program. It worked for me. Unfortunately, it didn't work for most due to how damaged these kids where.

I love Richard Hall like a father. I wonder where he is, how he is, is he still alive. He was one of the very very few male role models in my life that never let me down. What an awesome man . I wish i could get in contact with him.

I worked at The Red House on Clearwater Ranch between 1982 and 1984. I remember Richard Hall, a great leader and teacher. Does anyone remember the name of the woman who was the Supervisor of the Red House during that time, she was a wonderful role model and teacher. Thanks

Town House was in Cloverdale, I was there in 1973 and 1974 as a kid. What good memories I have of it there. I wish I could relive those years.

I was a "near wing" counselor at Clearwater Ranch in Philo from Oct. 1970 to Oct. 1972. It was a very important experience for me, my first job after college, and I made some close friends. I am still in touch with Don Watts, Peter Bowyer, Louis Berchier and Leslie Hill. I now live in Charlotte NC, I am a reporter, and I have my own kids. I learned a tremendous amount at the ranch and treasure my experience there. I remember David Mau, who wrote to this site.
