Neighbors: Massillon Murder-Suicide May 'Run in the Family'

Neighbors said they appeared to be the ideal family. But police are calling the deaths of a mother, father and their eight-year-old daughter in Massillon a double murder-suicide. Kyle Blankenship, 42, his wife Ann Urbas-Blankenship, 42, and their 8-year-old daughter Grayce were found shot to death inside their home on Oxford Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Full Story

Praying for the Blankenship and Urbas families! What a tragedy to suffer through. But as it says in God's word "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1
Lean on the Lord God to get you through this trying time!

How in the hell can anyone be so crazy to kill their family and then themselves? I will never understand this madness and it is too common of a tragedy. Look at this crazy family with the older sister killing her grandchildren, then herself! The whole damn family is nuts. Kill yourself if you want, but to bring down the family first is about as cowardly as it gets. These poor children didn't have a chance. Geezus Krist, this is a picture of hell on earth.

Absolute insanity! My sympathy to the family.

Goes to show you never really know somebody's life behind closed doors. Obviously a sickness ran in this man's family. My thoughts go out to the little girl's friends who will struggle with dealing with this, as well as to the families involved.

Our prayers go out to both families and for Grayce's friends who will sadly miss her and have difficulty dealing with the horrible tragedy.

These were my friends and I will miss them dearly. They were truly special lights not only in church but in their whole community. They were loved by so many people but how could you not love them. They always had a great big smile, a hug, and a kind word for you. I will always remember how happy Grayce was and how much fun she was to have at church and for VBS. You always knew you were going to laugh when she was there.

Ann and Grayce, you will always be beautiful and together for eternity. You will both be in my heart always and I will never forget you. You were both angels here on earth and now your wings are bigger and your halos are golden. I know we will meet again someday.
Kyle, I pray that you have now found peace. I will still call you my friend and remember you with fondness. I just wish I could have told you that one more time.

Peace and prayers to everyone that has been touched and affected by this tragedy but know that one day, we will all be together again.

Wow it is true you go to massillon clerk of courts and he was arrested yesterday for disorderly conduct. The neighbors know their stuff evidently and should I add, sadly. I hope someone gets the family and the closest neighbors into counseling. If this is indeed a thing that runs in families please go seek counseling and heal together.

This is sad....so sad! What a sick and cowardly thing to do to your family. And to Dawn, I don't think you "all" will be together one day in Heaven..I doubt this disturbed Kyle character will be there, i mean come on...he wiped out his whole family! That little girl didn't want to die, neither did his wife! What a sick thing to do!!!

I went to school with Kyle and Ann. They were such a special couple. Gracye went to bible school with my daughter. She was such a sweet little girl. I still cant believe it was this family. They were picture perfect. I was raised always to forgive. But its really hard for me to forgive Kyle right now for what he did. There was no reason at all for this tragedy. Ann and Grayce were very special. God just received to very special angels. My prayers are with them and their family. You will be missed. R.I.P.

Our prayers go out to both fmilies involved in this terrible tradegy. I have known the Blankenship family for many years. My sons are very good friends with the Blankenship boys. They grew up in the same church. Sunday I spoke to Kyle, his brother Bob and his Mother after church Sunday morning.I do not know all the stressors that could cause a person to do this terrible act. I do not feel the comment "May run in the family "was appropriate. Be Polite. May God be with both families as they go through this terrible tradegy.

"There, but for the grace of God, go I."
Satan is out to destroy families. He will do it any way he can.

I will continue to lift up in prayer the family and friends left behind.

Kyle was a dear friend I worked with him for the past year and a half and I can't believe he would shoot his family and himself. He often talked so highly of his wife and daughter. Kyle was a wonderful person to work with, he would go far and beyond to help his fellow coworkers. He was always friendly and a joy to be around. I will miss him, we was a good friend to me.

You may think you know a person but really you don't, there is absolutly NO reason a person should have LIFE come down to this, if anything leave and go get help, I don't understand what killing everybody does, but hurt the ones left. Kyle obviously had some issues that you knew nothing about and it's sad that he wasn't strong enough to find another way out!
