My family and I were fortunate to get our picture taken with Ralph Regula standing on the Capital steps. He has served his district long and well. I think that several years ago when he was passed by for Appropriations Chairman the Republican Party made a very big mistake. I hope that he enjoys his time in retirement.

Good to see another Republican retire. This will now be an open seat chance for a Democrat to get elected for Stark county. What did Ralphie boy do to stop the deep layoffs of thousands at Timken or the closer of the 1000 job Hoover plant in North Canton? NOTHING !!!!

Ralph - you won't be missed in Stark county, and don't let the door hit your A$$ on the way out of your Washington, DC office in January 2009. Enjoy your 90% full retirement pension and medical benefits that no one else gets in this country anymore thanks in part to your votes in Congress like NAFTA.

You live in Summit County dumbas$. Why do you even care about Stark County? Oh wait, it is a slow sports day so you had to find something else to bitch and moan about. Damn Grumpy. If you hate the Browns, and hate LeBron and the Cavs, and you hate Republicans, and you hate NE Ohio, THEN MOVE TO PITTSBURGH where everything is perfect. Get the hell out of here, PLEASE!!

Chad - While I do not agree with Old Man Grump's remarks, you are wrong, too.

There is a great deal of 'overlap' in the economies of southern Summit County and northern Stark County. Between the shared Airport, the new warehouse district around it, Hoover, Timken and Belden Village, it is totally a regional thing.

Time for you to get over this 'only in my county' thing. We will rise or fall as a region.

Plus a small portion of Regula's district is in Summit County.

Actually, "Summit County" is affected in the same way as any other county in Ohio - by Republican inaction and stall tactics which have helped destroy the desire to live in Ohio. Don't like paying property taxes to pay for schools? When will the Repugniconvicts come up with a viable alternative to save public schools?(Once public schools are phased out due to vouchers, the "conservatives" will say "Why are we subsidizing education for people who should pay for it?" and end the vouchers.)

Republicans have been running the Ohio House and Senate since 1994 ... no wonder the state is losing rank ...

Look at Cleveland for an example of the damage Democrats can do unconstrained

No Democrats invaded a country then took prisoners and murdered them .

The bush government had guards break a mans knees, then tie his hands to a hangar in the ceiling of the cell. In time, he collapsed and his arms pulled up his rib cage so he could not breathe and he died.

A 21st century crucifixion.

And bush asks "why do they hate us?". Because we are monsters. Anybody who supports such a horror is a monster. Every moment that we don't call for accountability in those murders is a moment that we are monsters too.

What a bunch of nonsense

The democrats were all for the war, don't forget that.

The democrats signed 1/2 of Europe into slavery, don't forget Yalta.

Only a simpleton would think the Bush administration ordered something like that, if in fact it did happen. Do you think your Mayor targets individual cars for parking tickets?

The real monsters cut off heads and stone women for getting an education.

These people hate us because they blame us for the existence of Israel. They also hate us because their religion tells them to spread the word via the sword.

Cleveland was a terrific city. It has been run by incompetent democrats forever now, it just goes down the drain faster and faster. It is a tragic Lord Of The Flies remake on a much larger scale.

Yah, and always the excuse ... "oh, too much taxing drove businesses away" ...

and yet the absolute capitalist "free-marketers" demand welfare from the cities or hold them hostage (see Gateway, Browns Stadium, the Jake, etc ...), demanding all kinds of tax dodges whilst dangling a few jobs out as "payment" ... and once the "abatements" run out ... so do the "jobs" ...
