I'm tryin' to recall iff'n the ABJ spent this much print on any of the previously opened new schools in Akron. I think we've heard quite enough about this one.

I think this is an awesome improvement to our community, however there is a daycare center that's looking to enroll children ages 2-5, it's also new to the community, if you could take a look at our website, and if there's something we can do to get our name out there it would be greatly appreciated. http://hstrial-khenson.homestead.com/index.ht... Thank you so very much, we at the Corinthian Baptist Church decided to open this daycare center and name it after our deceased founder and Pastor, David N Bennett, it's been a long struggle but we've finally made it. You and your staff are more than welcome to come out and take a look around, you will be greatly satisfied with all the work that's went into this project, the classrooms are filled with toys and computers, it's wonderful, so if you could do us this great favor and get our story/name out to the public,we woud be forever greatful...the contact name and number can be found on the website.

This is only the 3rd one to open, and the other two replaced schools that were already there. I do remember the Judith Resnick school getting a lot of press.

The school rebuilding program is one step in reviving APS. Every problem has a "hardware" and "software" portion, and the building program is addressing the Hardware side. If we can get Columbus to address the Software portion, we'll see improvements in the future for our urban-centric school system.

What are the people going to get who had their homes in the cause of eminent domain? Doesn't pay to be poor in America unless you are an illegal immigrant!

I would imagine that depends on the poor person. Some will get new homes and a mule, and the others will be out of luck

I rescind my negative comments. Good luck to the kids. With the new schools opening, maybe there will be more jobs for the teachers. Godspeed with all of you.

another huge waste of money on young criminals who don't want an education and who's family will be moving out of the area due to lack of jobs.
Nice book ends for the politicians...what a waste for all who have to pay for it. What's wrong with an old school that's paid off?

Joe Finley should be thanked for the new schools. He was in council when they were funded.

Vote for Joe Finley Sept 11th !!!

My memory may be off, but wasn't Mr. Finley against the tax that funded the school building program in Akron? If someone recalls, a clarification on Mr. Finley's position would be appreciated.

It's great to see so many improvements and new, safe buildings going up for our children! Too bad Springfield isn't improving their school system...

Are you making the assumption that children who live in the neighborhood don't want,(or worse yet) don't deserve an education? Just because children come from poverty does not make them "criminals" nor does it make them undeserving of an education. ALL children, regardless of where they live deserve school buildings that have what is needed to provide the best possible education for them. Just because some children make choices to not value education does not mean that the others should suffer.Shame on you!
