Any chance somebody could gently steer one of those big EF-5 tornadoes towards the Southern Alabama dumpster/town of Foley? It's a filthy little dump overflowing with worthless welfare trash that needs a good EF-5 scouring. Thanks in advance.

I brought my One Man Band up here from Port Saint Lucie to LA (Lower Alabama) to play a gig at the Hangout Festival next weekend. You're right on, dude - these Bama folks have got to be the most ignorant tards I've ever been around. I hope tornadoes take out the whole state... after all, it's an act of God. Total losers!!

Happened to me! My insurance skyrocketed because I had to file a claim. My deductible went from $500 to $5,000 because a tornado ripped my roof off. Its terrible to have a tragedy happen then you, as a homeowner, keep reeping the repercussions. Although I am blessed because I'm one of the lucky ones whose house was still standing and my family was safe. All three of my neighbors houses were demolished. I wonder how that works on insurance. U know my roof probably cost them 10 grand. I can't imagine what they would do to me if my whole home needed to be replaced. It isn't right.

" I can't imagine what they would do to me if my whole home needed to be replaced. It isn't right."

The insurance companies would just say that it was caused by something else rather than whatever your insurance covers. That is what they always do. Remember all of the homes that were destroyed or damaged by Katrina? The insurance companies just said that the damage was caused by water and not wind and they refused to pay anything.

Too many insurance shoppers are looking for CHEAP insurance from anyone known or not to get by the mortgage company requirements. Same with discount car insurance. They want bare bones minimum with low coverage and wind up with a court ordered judgment for the difference when their kid hits and wipes out a high dollar car. It's best to deal with a LOCAL agent that you can sit down face to face with when determining what you need but far too many people today have adequate insurance coverage on the bottom of their priority list.

I've always been pretty happy with my carrier, State Farm. Anytime I had a claim, they never disputed it . Then, when the tornados happened everything changed. I am guessing its because they had to dish out so much money. I have great coverage and have paid dearly for it for many years. Had I not been paying insurance and just saving my monthly payment I would have more than enough to replace my roof. They act like its your fault. I think they forget that we pay them every month.

Have Nationwide and had damage in the 2011 tornadoes.. They had adjusters return my calls immediately and since the house had damage but was livable and the outbuildings couldn't be saved anyway they asked to help those that had major damage to get a place to live. No problem. They were there in three days and got the ball rolling. This is on top of a frozen pipe four years ago that required all the hardwood on the main floor to be replaced. No problems. They handled the restoration team and didn't question the full replacement. I also got with my agent afterwards and raised my coverage and took on an umbrella policy to C.M.A. for anything large. Yes it costs but it's also peace of mind. The problem with insurance is that most people don't understand it, don't know what they do and don't need and look for the cheapest quote and don't know to compare the fine print. Their hard life's lesson comes when they have a claim and find themselves un or under insured for the situation.
