According to the news, supervision fees are about to be increased by $10 -$63 & $65 per month. You can bet the state and regional bosses are going to increase pressure on the agents, and base their ability to do their jobs on the monies collected each month.

It's about as stupid as the "processing fee". I can testify to the major effort to collect this $50 fee from all probation and parolees currently on paper. P&P headquarters has turned the department into a collection agency.

The Department of Probation & Parole is supposed to be about supervision - monitor behavior & report violations - with the primary focus on public safety. Not any more!

And when they establish the data proving they can't pay, a new tax will be passed requiring working people to pay for indigent offenders who can't afford to pay for their parole.

You're dreaming....! If a convict is determined to be indigent (by his probation officer) he will be directed to perform community service in lieu of fees. The PO's I know will work with a convict if he is making an effort to pay his debts.

First off the "processing fee" is $65 not $50, and second, the people that are on probation can no longer perform community service in lieu of fees, only parolees. The days of getting out of paying fees are gone! Don't even get credit for the time that they serve in jail if they are arrested while on supervision anymore.

Why didn't anyone think of that? What a great idea! Convicts just need to turn back time and undo the stupid, terrible mistake they made.

Thank you!

Hey heres an idea When you break the law and the sentence is 20 years you do the 20 years and no probation when your time is up you walk away clean. No probation no deals no nothing. And when you get out and do another crime you get shot in the head very simple. Im not talking bout small crimes like shoplifting in that case just cut off one hand that will atleast make them have to work twice as hard to steal somthing.

AS USUAL MR. FORD, YOU DO NOT KNOW THE FACTS! But that is not surprising to me. Noone lost their job, we are all still there. How does that make you feel?

I put this here to make sure EVERYBODY saw my response.

yep I got off parole bout two years ago, all they care about is the money, if thats all they want people on paper should be glad to pay it, it keeps the p.o. off your back, you should realize they can lock your ass up with the stroke of a pen. But the fees should be reasonable at least, or based on the offenders income, they just get more and more greedy, be fair.

There is a collection agency that they go to now. Not sure of the address but your local office has envelopes and it is best to use them to make sure it gets posted correctly. You can also pay by phone and internet now.
