Chief Caddo remains in Nacogdoches four years in a row. A mediocre SFA squad came from behind to score 21 points on us and finish off a game we had control of. A four win season.
Is that really the best we are capable of? How far back do we have to search to find four losing seasons in a row in NSU football? The mid-40s.
Something needs to change. Scott Stoker's Sam Houston team is playing at all time highs---and we fired him at the end of a winning season. All the hype about rebuilding, buying-in, and inherited problems has run its course. There are no excuses left. Who is calling the shots? We hired a head coach because he was a "co-coordinator" at the flagship? Ever wonder why he was "co"? LSU's defense was very poor in that ea, by the way. But we couldn't wait to bring him here.
Every year we hear great promises. We hear about potential, and excitement, and new levels of expectation. And we get a 4 and 7 record. That's the improvement we are supposed to love? I'm thinking big waste of money NSU. When the band is the best part of the game each week, you need to choose a new direction. Tired of buying tickets just to get mad over and over again. Fans all around me feeling the same way.

With losing seasons every year,NSU stands little chance to recruting the best players. The ones that are looking to go further in football, won't come here. I like Pevato, but the record speaks for itself.

It's time for a new voice and direction an NSU. The team is inconsistent, undisciplined, and for the most part bad. I also don't think the team is even progressing enough year to year. It is hard to watch their games unless they are going up against a very weak opponent.
One of the biggest mistakes Peveto ever made was not firing the OC last year and bringing in someone new this season. I have went to every home game and the offensive play calling is horrible.

4-7 is not a bad season as far as NSU is concerned. I can think back a few short years when I just wanted a win! Face it, Northwestern will never be championship caliber again, too many changes would have to be made and that won't happen. Changes would have to made at the top of the athletic department, has this AD ever done much for the athletic department? Any sport? Softball use to win conference championships as did baseball. Where do they rank now? Football, always competed for conference title, been some time now since that has happened. This is the norm now, enjoy getting out and watching, just don't expect titles anymore.

Forgot basketball teams, they are the same as any other sports team at NSU, mid to lower level in conference play. Both use to be at the top, still like going to watch games, just remember, keep hopes at a lower and achievable goal.

I don't think 4-7 is acceptable at all. How can Peveto be held to those standards? I am tired of watching NSU beat up on weaker schools. I understand if NSU is not up to Sam Houston's level of play, but atleast be in the mix. Beating two small out of conference schools and a Nichols or Lamar each year isn't going to cut it.
And for the AD I do think he made some hires that didn't work, but I really like the new baseball HC. And he made a splash with Peveto hire so I don't fault him for that but I will fault him if he stays with him.

4-7 is all you are going to get in the Southland Conference. Maybe it's time to drop down and play teams we can actually compete with.

The new women's basketball coaches have also made a good first impression, although they have some building to do with that program. And the volleyball coaches who were hired a couple of years ago just had the best season in something like 40 years. Some hires work out and some don't. I remember how excited everyone including me was when Peveto was hired but it's been tough sledding for sure.

Men's basketball at NSU will be exciting to watch this year and I expect them to win a lot of games - they will be in the hunt for the league championship.

Women's basketball is on the upswing and will improve when the coaches can get their players here.

Maybe baseball will get to the point where they can again compete. I did not like the old coach and did not go to a game last year.

NSU is on an upswing as far as having some solid coaches. Since they parted ways with Peveto yesterday, I trust they will find somebody that will also be a solid hire for NSU football. I would recommend getting a HC with HC experience. That was the only thing Peveto was lacking coming into the job. Some coaches are great as coordinators or position coaches, but never pan out as HC.

It's the money that talks. You get what you can afford to pay for. Should have kept Stoker another year or so.

football at NSU is a waste of time, talent and money. They should get rid of football at every university in Louisiana except for LSU. Maybe then LSU would actually be good enough to warrant all the loving devotion from everyone in this state who has never seen the campus, much less attended that university.

season.

I say blame him for making this hire but "CAREER loser" not so sure. There have been a lot of good hires and a lot of good things that have happened for NSU athletics with him as AD.

You can change coaches like underware, but until they get the quality players,it's going to be the same result.
