Someone asked what happened, and I stated it. Since when is stating facts something to be ashamed of?

If it were you, I'm sure you'd love for people to be on here 'stating the facts' while your family is grieving.
How do you know it as fact? Were you there? I doubt it.

She did not slit her wrist. Apparently student does not hev the facts.

First, how do you know it's true? Because 'student' says it is? And second, How do you know the parents didn't get her help if it was true?

I won't be posting again.
Just think, if it was you or your loved one, would you want people on here talking badly about you or them?

DELETE THIS !!!!!!!!!!

please watch your mouth and be respectful in this time dear one.
I would really hate for you to learn the pain of dealing with this and having people talk and blast it all over the forum for all the world to view.
whether it's true or not - it's not right.
be careful, head this warning - don't take it as sarcasm.

Personally, I wouldn't care if people I didn't know were stating facts. It was what I heard and I typed it.

I checked the local news sites and paper, nothing was mentioned about it.

So I'm disrespectful because I'm not pandering? Because I'm not saying how sorry I am and how sad it is?

I haven't seen anything written about the Freddie (or fannie, i forget) Mac guy that killed himself the other day, is it because everyone is greiving for his loss?

why be condescending?
why deter the situation and what you said?

is it not enough that she was in so much pain that she decided to end her life?

is it not enough that her mother was in the house with her, found her, and heard the shot???
"Personally, I wouldn't care if people I didn't know were stating facts. It was what I heard and I typed it."
by that statement I can tell alot about you, and I can tell that you don't have any children.
I will also say to you that your insensitive statement made will haunt you whenever you have a child and see their face, and hold their warm soft little body on your arms, when you feel their skin soft as a cloud.

yes all suicides are terribly terribly sad, and they don't typically happen in natchitoches, to young high school female students with their entire lives ahead of them.

Your disrespectful because your not being sensitive to the family.
Imagine your her sibling reading this.....

come on now I know your a little bit smarter than that and I know your old enough to muster up some sympathy by keeping your bratty little trap shut.

is that too much to ask???
this is not the time or place for you to vent your anger, dish out your issues, and try to let everyone know our pissed at the world.

your such a hypocrite for making a sarcastic comment about the freddy mac guy committing suicide and wondering why no one said anything about him whenever your showing the same amount of sympathy toward this girl.

the reason we are talking about her on this forum is because this is natchitoches forum!
were not talking about freddy mac here - he has his own forum - click on it !

nothing worse I hate than a smart mouthed snot nosed kid shrugging their young little guilt free shoulders at agonizing pain.
even when I was your age I was still way more in tune with human emotions and how to communicate.

Why would she take her life when she had so much to live for? Yes we must be respectful but we should also learn and try to understand what happened with this beautiful child to maybe help others.

Can we all just for once not be negative and PRAY for this family......nothing but prayer can/will help. They are gong through enough, no need for any of this negative drama that is being said on this site. My heart goes out to the family (definitely) the mother. I have a 17 year old daughter and I can't even imagine finding my child in this type of situation. I pray for strength and peace in the midst of this storm..... Only God can be the judge, shame on anyone who has put themselves in the seat of "if it were me/how you would have done things differently.... if all you have is he say/she say dont say anything....... Just Pray for these people. CAN WE JUST DO THAT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!

she had a slip of the mind. why does anyone commit suicide.
thats it- she thought in that moment that things were way too hard to deal with.
Stress of life took over and the devil thought he won but he was wrong.

there is a difference between being nosy and trying to help someone.

your on here at 11:30pm at night asking why an 18 year committed suicide. that's not going to help no one.

get God in your life and talk with your friends.
be there and let them know they can make it no matter what.

Point out where I was condenscending.

In my first post all that was posted was what I had heard. It was devoid of emotional flavor, because all that was asked was what someone had heard.

Your right, I have no kids, yet, and you know what, when I do things may be different.

But, what I heard was that the mother ignored the slit wrist and left her alone for a moment. If the daughter was intent enough to try it twice, and reach for something more destructive than a razor blade, then there is no amount of talking that could have stopped that.

Look, poor girl can be said all you want, but that's not going to change what happened.

Am I being cold, maybe, but I'm not being insensitive. I never once said anything about the mother being bad of useless or anything like that. What I said was what I heard, no judgement being passed.

The original poster asked what happened, I posted what happened. They didn't ask what happened, and be kind to them, and talk about the prayers your going to throw their way.

Someone asked a question, and I responded. I heard the information from my girlfriend who heard it from her friend. Until the Natchitoches times, or the town talk, or the times, or any other news outlet carries the story, I'm going off of what I heard.

If it is such a big deal and important to you to find out the truth, then call the school and see if they will release the student's name (they can't by law I believe) but another student might know. Once you get the name, go see the family and ask what happened. That's how you find information you want to know.

This is not the time or place to discuss this. Please think of the grieving family. My heart goes out to them and I will remember them in my prayers.

People expect others to be sensitive and sentimental and it doesn't always happen. I think what student is saying is neutral; it sounds to be as if it were even a news report which as I remember correctly don't get overly heartfelt in the matter.

Even though people will choose to perceive things how they will, stating your source (word of mouth) of the bat could have helped it not come across as so stoic, detached. It was at least something you talked about and knew but it doesn't have to be something you mourn over if you don't know who they were, but perhaps understand why things happen the way they do.
