What is going on with the Ramada Inn? I went there for lunch last week and the quality is not as good in my opinion as it was about a year ago. I always liked seeing the same people in there but when I was there I didn't see anyone from years gone by. Is it still owned by the same people or not?

No, it is now owned by some foreiners of some kind, and unfortunately they are only in it to make money not a good rep.

I will not comment on the nationality of the owners, but the way customers are treated is of concern. Apparently this December, some long term customers/residents at Ramada were told to leave for the Christmas Festival. It is my understanding that those living there are some public service workers and the Christmas Festival evictitions violate law, but well you know....nothing was/will be done. Also, so I have been told, for those seeking underage drinkers...their bar would be a "happy hunting ground".

It will be a parking lot after their government money runs out. If Sam sold it something is in the works for that area that aint good. Like who wants to smell a feed mill when it rains.

Based on my last stay there, if Ramada Inn monitors were to come, they would be closed today. They have a contract with NSU that gets all the traffic from the university and visiting athletic teams. They are also in good shape to host reunions and construction workers. Also have seen some ladies of the night there in the past....so there is trade, just not the type of the Historical District caliber.

At least they book good bands _sometimes_. 150 Franklin may be the one saving grace of the Ramada Inn.

Yes, but one visit by the Liquor Control Board or someone else enforcing alcohol laws could bring that to a screaching stop.

Yea, appeared to be an "out call" opertation. And so the city fathers won't get upset, let's only refer to them as "escorts".

I got a room at the Ramada for my family to stay for the weekend and Ramada's housekeeping is horrible.....especially the inspectress Barbara Helaire. She has an attitude and the rest of the crew. We had bunches of trash just sweep under the bed and hair in the shower and when we called to complain she had the wrost attitude ever. They need a whole new staff along with owners..

From my last experience at Ramada, it appears to be too far gone. It would cost a fortune to get the property up to a standard of quality. And after tons of money, its still off the interstate, out of the way, and in an industrial district. Of course the current business of a couple of notches above a flophouse, host location for athletic teams, drug deals, constrution workers and family reunions seems to keep the place in business. A good cleaning, inside and out would be helpful.

Public service workers? What kind of public service workers would be residents at the Ramada Inn? I'd like to know whose budget that came out of! They can take that money and fix the roads, you can't even drive down them without hitting a hole! And they're still there?

Concerned, I would be concerned too if I thought governmental funds were paying for a public service employee to stay at the Ramada. These are employees who live there...paying for the rooms with their salary....paying with income they earn.

I got a room for my fiances son and daughter in law just before christmas, it was pretty bad. They had just driven all night, couldn't take a nap because the cleaning ladies were yelling outside. Then, when we went to the restaurant to eat breakfast, it was a fiasco.

Most everything was gone, and when they brought out more food, they would bring like 2 biscuits at a time! and, there would be 5-6 ppl waiting, the 1 waiter complained that they thought he was Superman, which it was a lot of people, my guess was a family reuion. Next time they'll be staying out by I49. And, if those ppl were renting the place, how can he put them out just so he can make extra money for the festival? Did they sign a contract?

The Ramada Inn changed hands this week and from what I understand changes are being made to upgrade restaurant. I ate there Monday and the food was very good.
