We have Jerry Longlois and Rick Nowlin. My opinion is that the best candidate would be Mr. Nowlin. Would like everyone's opinion on this matter.

I know Mr. Longlois has no management experience in running an office. Mr. Nowlin was our Representative and has the knowledge. Mr. Longlois served as the Jury President and I know that he feels he can serve as Parish President, however, the position needs to be filled by someone that has experience in that position (managerial). We need someone with a strong backbone to get in there and clean that place up and make sure that those that get elected for the 5 districts understand that they no longer have any rule over that office. I'm afraid that if we re-elect those that currently serve as jurors to the new positions we will continue to have the same thing that we have now....NOTHING.

I personally would like to see Mr. Nowlin get elected and go up there and clean house and start over again with new people. I for 1 will be casting my vote for Mr. Nowlin.

I'm in agreement with you. The voters of Natchitoches parish voted for change last year. To elect anyone who was an active member of the police jury is negating the change in government. We need business leaders as councilmen and a strong manager/businessman as the president. Whoever we elect they have to think outside of the box and look for creative solutions to the problems in the parish.

Also remember there are several members of the current police jury that are running for the council member seats.

especially since I seem to remember Mr. Longlois voting against the home carter. Hmmm, very curious.

I agree with you 100%. If we go back to the same ole same ole, we won't be any better off than what we were before. Mr. Nowlin has the business experience need for the job as well as some legislative experience. I hope he gets elected, then cleans house.

If you want to hand over the parish to the city you should vote for Nowlin. He will be another puppet that the city controls. If he is such a great businessman why would he want this head ache?
I'm voting for Longlois because he cares about the people of the parish. While he was the president of the jury he did everything he could to improve the place. His hands were tied to the other 10 jury members that only wanted a check. I dont think he will sell us out to the highest bidder.
Don't elect a puppet. Elect a man that works hard to improve our parish.
Vote with me and elect Gerold Longlois as the first Parish President of Natchitoches Parish

Nowlin just wants another check. Look at all the money he gets from the state already. Go to the Louisiana board of ethics website and look at his financial reports and see how much he is already making off the government.

I would definitely vote for Longlois over Nowlin. Nowlin is only interested in the paycheck. Think about voters Nowlin really doesn't care about Natchitoches resident's or our roads.

Mr. Longlois would have to have a strong Office Manager to help him run the office should he be elected. He also would have to have the "balls" to stand up to those that are elected as District Reps and say, "You don't run this place anymore. I do." And I don't think he has that.

Whoever gets elected needs to get rid of the following people up in that office:

Katherine Hamilton
Corine Jones
Janesha ???(don't know her last name)

Katherine and Corine need to take their retirement and get out of that office. They have a man that works up there as inspector. He can continue doing that and run the Parish Planning.

There is a white girl that answers the phone. She could serve as secretary and receptionist.

the office manager can do the position that Janesha has, payables, payroll and such.

The Finance Officer, I think her name is Debbie needs to stay and help whoever gets elected with the budget.

But we definitely do not need the same jurors to get elected to the new positions. They need to go and we need to start fresh.

Yes, Jerry Longlois did vote against the Charter. So my vote will still go to Nowlin.

I agree with the personel changes. The Hamilton woman thinks she owns the parish. Thay even had to buy a vehicle BIG enough for her FAT ASS. As far as the current police jury members, they do not deserve to be there, again. Vote for Nowlin.

I will be casting my vote for Mr. Longlois, a man that is NOT afraid to stand up to people and tell the truth. You say that Mr. Longlois voted against the charter but myself nor any of you were in the voting booth, so we really don't know how he voted. As far as the people that work in the jury office I don't think they can be replaced with 30 years of knowledge. I believe that new people need to be trained with those that work there now so that they can retire.
Since everyone thinks Mr. Nowlin is so good, please tell me ONE thing he did for the PARISH while he was representative? NOTHING. everything was done in the city. Also just take a look at ethic's board site and see who he paid to vote! Please take notice at all the same people being paid BIG bucks! Mr. Stelley got paid over 26,000.00 REALLY FOR WHAT?
I think something stinks there and with his whole expeditures from the previous election. Just check it out! You might be surprised!

My vote again will be for Mr. Longlois, a man that is NOT in the back pocket of the CITY or THAT GOOD GOVERNMENT GROUP!

Everyone knew Longlois was going to run for president once it was voted in. And everyone knows he was against it until it was . Talk about someone only looking for a paycheck & benefits.

Don't know all about Longlois, but can say with confidence that no one that served on the current police jury will get my vote.

Just think about this for a minute. Who did the Police Jury contact or rather hire to fill out the papers that they should have filled out a few years back in order to collect FEMA monies? They did not know how to properly fill out the papers so none of them should even be in the running. They have been drawing a salary and cannot fill out papers. None deserve our vote.

We need business people, not politicians. The police jury accomplished very little in the last 20 years. Let's make this a positive change for Natchitoches Parish. Vote for anyone who has not been on the policy jury before and if that is not an option in your district then vote for the most business minded candidate.

I'm thinking Nowlin is the candidate that will be getting my vote. Mr. Longlois actively campaigned AGAINST the home rule charter so I have to question why he would want to be associated with it. In Louisiana it has always been all about WHO you know, not what, and how well connected you are. Mr. Nowlin has the business experience, and the political cred to get some things done for this parish and hopefully drag it, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. The only reason he lost the last election is because those who supported him didn't get out and vote. There are SO many opportunities to vote, either early in person, by mail, or by actually going to your polling place on election day. There is NO excuse NOT to get out and vote. I've always said, "If you don't vote, you can't bitch." Look at the man who is currently representing us. We haven't laid eyes on him since he won the election. I call him Kenny "The Ghost" Cox, cause that's about all he is. I've heard the same is pretty much true in Baton Rouge as well. Don't know if it's true, so if he's shown up and done his job down there, someone please feel free to set me straight.

Have to agree with you,Rick will look after the parish. As far as Cox goes, people were taken in by him just like with The Annointed One. Mabe they will WAKE UP!
