Just wondering if anyone knew what was going to be built on the side of the hill there where Tator Dyson store use to be? I'm sure some kind of a sign, just wondering what kind? The state or city one has put out a whole lot of money on prettying up the place out there. I'm sure some of the trees were planted to help with the dirt washing away, but the flower bed???

Just think some of it is a waste of tax payers dollars. Just my opinion.

Oak Grove Community should have incorporated all that when they had the chance. We could have had our on little village of Oak Grove out there and be getting some of those tax dollars.

WTH does this have to do with the Christmas Festival, which, BTW, is NOT put on by the city, but formerly by the Chamber of Commerce, but since last year by the Historic District Business Association.

And if you had one lick of sense, you would KNOW that any project over and above a certain cost, MUST, BY STATE LAW, be let for competitive sealed bid. Chances are the Alexandria firm was low bid. Quit your complaining, how many times have you driven out of town to shop and supported another community's economy? My guess is that you would bitch about a free lunch.

Lee's doing a pretty decent job. At least I don't see his mug shining out of the pictures in the paper at every social/public/photo op occasion, which tells me his backside is in his office, doing his job, like it should be. I have noticed a great deal of work going on all over town on various things. All you have to do is pay attention and you'll see it too. Oh, snap, that's right, y'all didn't think it was done completely, well enough, fast enough or to last long enough, and the materials might have come from out of town. At least things are getting done!

Um...my name is Debbie and I don't know a Tammie but if I did I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate you calling her this. I live on Hwy. 504 and I work in Many so I go past this particular site EVERYDAY. I was just curious and wondered what they were putting up is all.

Natchitoches is too worried about tourism at the locals expense. Fix the roads, pick up litter......not add $10000 worth of flowers on the top of the riverbank area and plant $100000 worth of trees around I49 which now have to be cared for and mowed around

Looks like someone needs to get out there and water the poor trees. The magnolia leaves are already turning brown.

They may be getting ready for the celebration next year for the 300th anniversary. Whatever they have you can bet they'll charge a fee for it just to pay for all these trees and flowers being planted out there. Did they buy the plants locally? Or were they purchased out of town? Isn't the main focus "buy locally"?
