Correct me if I am wrong, but in Natchitoches most items are taxed at 9%, not 9.5 and food items, meds, etc. are taxed at 5%, not 5.5. Items purchased are taxed at one or the other rate, not both. There is no double tax at Wal-Mart.

Looking at a ticket right now from Walmart. Two taxes one is 9% the other is 5%. I spent $10395 and tax 1 was 7.91 and 2 .80.

Yesterday I was buying Midol, Maxipads and Astroglide at Wal Mart. The total was $15.00. Tax One was $1.25 & Tax Two was .83. However, those two taxes together was nothing compared to the tax placed on my booty last night

So right. This is the group that believes we should stay with the current Police Jury system. If you think you are being double taxed, please take your Wal-Mart receipt to someone with a little math knowledge and let them show you how the tax is figured. You'll feel better.

Actually groceries has one tax, alcohol has a tax by itself, general merchandise has a tax! On ur receipt it is just broken down that's why it looks like u paying more taxes than u should!
