John Gibson owns JJ's. Him and his exwife Judy opened it up first, then when they divorced Judy ran it for a while. Now John runs it, and he keeps a pretty close eye on what goes on in there.
Great place to go!

Then you need to come hear us next time we are there.
JJ's is a good place to have a drink and talk (on the lounge side) or hear live music and dance (on the dance hall side). You can get the best of both worlds!

I miss feeding quarters to ol' Dan's pool tables and jukebox.

I've not been to Natchitoches in about 15 years, but there used to be a biker bar called "Woodys". Does anyone know if its still there or not? I used to go there every night. 3 pool tables and a little dance floor, but it used to stay packed.

If you're looking to see bands without ANY drunken rowdiness - and hey, you can even bring the kids if they like southern rock music - come to the Sabine Theatre out in Many. Little bit of a drive, unfortunately. 150 Franklin's playing there this Saturday. It's not a bar, but it's a great atmosphere with kids AND parents there (at least last show there), everybody dancing, having fun and no fights. The off-duty cop there makes sure of that.

Well I probably seen you in there a time or two. I used to seem like live there. Pretty good crowds on the weekends. Thanks for the info.

The bars in town really depend on what you like. If you want to be around mostly older people - go to JJs. If you want to listen to country music - go to Cherokee. If you want to be around tons of college kids in sororities & fraternities - go to The Body. If you want to be around more college kids & some rednecks - go to Strait Country

Thats not true abput bodacious. There where fights there all of the time. Some one I know got his guts cut out there in the parkinglot. The bars are for the younger people anyway. Every time I see a older person drunk in a bar it makes me think they are going through a midlife crisis. So Grow the f*** up.

Well lets see idiot!! You remember Bodacious and seeing fights so that means your getting up in years too! Then you say bars are for the younger people then you go on to say everytime you see an older person in a bar you think they are going thru a midlife crisis.hmmmm

If you are tired of hearing the same old bands , standing in one spot the entire night , playing through there playlist . Check out Mauva Belle , she a good singer and spends the majority of her show out in the crowd getting people into it !

JJ's Every Sunday from 5-9 / 4 miles south of Natchitoches on old Hwy 1 in Natchez .

I have a few good memories from Dan's. Haven't been in a long time. I heard he's banned smoking in the bar because it makes him sick. I can't imagine that your average bar hopper, especially one who see drinking and smoking as a "can't have one without the other" partnership. I bet he doesn't get many serious smoking customers anymore. Bars are the last public place that still allow smoking. I don't mind resturants banning it , after all I don't go to them to drink and smoke but eat. But if on a rare occasion I go out to drink with friends, you can bet it will be somewhere I can enjoy a smoke with my drink. I don't drink ofter, but I smoke a lot when I drink.
