The Shreveport Times reported that Natchitoches Police Department Assistant Chief Cary Hargrove was suspended one day this month for a policy violation related to a Sabine Parish homicide investigation.

1 day?? 1 day?

He called my nephew's murderer and told him that the police were looking for him - he told him that they had him on camera taking my nephew - and he gets one day suspension.

I wonder if they give everyone a call that is going to be picked up, or was this a special case because this piece of trash was one of their own?

So much for ethics, integrity, and honor.......

Believe me this is just the tip of the corruption iceberg. I wonder why the official Natchitoches newspaper did not report this. You have every reason to be OUTRAGED. The NPD had a lot to be worried about when they discovered that there was a video camera. BART was their enforcer. He came to see me on several occasions regarding outstanding debts due to the Meatpie Mafia. This is the same police force who covered up my child's molestation by a prominent member of Natchitoches Society. Thank God my child is still alive. I didn't understand why my child turned down a full scholarship to Northwestern until I found out that they had been molested. When my child went to the police to report what had happened to them, they were told that they would be arrested for lying. I am surprised that there was even a one day suspension. I guess Micky Dove had to make some sort of symbolic gesture of disciplinary action since this "slip" of protocol was exposed by media outside the circle of silence. Believe me the collusion extends much deeper than a warning call.

I stand corrected. The fine upstanding assistant police chief of Natchitoches was docked $211.00.

$211.00 -less than what the ticket would have cost if the cop in Robeline had done his job and written the citation that BART should have gotten.

OMG this is not about your insane conspiracy theories!

This is about the slap in the face they just gave to my family.

Of course there is no police corruption in Natchitoches. It's just my imagination, remember. An assistant police chief warning one of his men that the police are looking for him because he was caught on video when he kidnapped someone, if this is not a conspiracy what is ? Micky Dove seems to be real transparent and forthcoming.

do you know the whole story? what had happened in the days prior to the kidnapping and murder?

If you did - you wouldn't be saying some of the things you are saying.

One person took my nephew. One person killed my nephew.

Thank you for enlightening me. You are absolutely right. There was ample opportunity to prevent what happened. The Natchitoches Police Department was aware of the slashed tires and the problem of a mentally disturbed police officer. They should have intervened sooner, not wait for a video to capture evidence of a kidnapping. Don't you wonder why they did not intervene sooner, especially in light of the events in the days leading up to the abduction. There were individuals stonewalling the protective order.

No, they weren't aware of the tires prior to all of this going down.

No, they weren't stonewalling the protective order.

You know absolutely nothing about the truth of this case.

I think Dove and Hargrove should both be fired. You agree that a one day suspension is an insult. What do you think is appropriate, a 2 day suspension?

I think that Hargrove should be terminated from his position with the Natchitoches Police Department.

As a citizen from Natchitoches, I comment today as someone that experienced first hand some of the lies and corruption from the law enforcement in little town. They lie, they steal, they cheat!

I understand freedom of speech.

Just not a fan of personal commments about a person's appearance, etc.

Not sure how that's beneficial to the conversation.

At first glance, I would have to jump in and agree to his termination. However, I feel I don't have enough information to make that determination. Sure, he should have had authority to do what he did, but as Asst. Chief maybe he already had that. What were his motivations in communicating with the guy? Maybe he felt the guy trusted him or that he could gain his trust. He may have been communicating with the guy to gain information on his whereabouts or to track him in some way. There are many reasons that he could have contacted the guy for the good, why does everyone assume the worst?

The long and short of it is that I would need to investigate for myself the motives and reasoning behind the contact between a fugitive from the law and a law enforcement officer prior to terminating the officer. It could have been his communication with the guy that helped locate him or the body of the young man or other evidence. We don't know and aren't the ones responsible for investigating it, which may have already been done with this suspension as the result.
