This one time I walked into Walmart and entered the electronics department. I'd wanted to buy my new fiancé an iPad. I'd asked a red headed lady, I believe her name was Ashley(?) I asked her multiple questions about the iPad that she was very quick to answer. However, a heavy set woman named Leah (I believe), tried to join in on the conversation and overrun Ashley to answer the questions. Well, she had no idea what she was talking about despite how confident she was about her work. Also to add, I believe she made a few comments about some sort of sexual innuendo. I was rather offended because I was there to purchase something for my FIANCÉ. She then made a comment about how big my feet were, and how usually big feet mean a large "member," and she then proceeded to explain how it'd been a while since she's had one of those. Appalled, I just discontinued my shopping and decided to seek an iPad elsewhere. I'd have much preferred the company of Ashley (?) because she was very professional and well educated. I am now actually frightened to enter the electronics department of WalMart in Natchitoches. Very uncomfortable!

This is probably the most ridiculous shit I have ever read, please find something better to do with your time. I am sure most of you have families, jobs, school, or something else to devote your time to besides ranting on topix. The people who work at Wal-Mart are human, they will make mistakes, and even have bad days. Shocker right? Anyway what I am saying is you all hide behind a computer screen tearing people down, that isn't going to change anything. If you want something to become better try not being an asshole, and explain to the managers that work there what the problem is, they will work with you to fix it.
PS: I think people would take you more seriously if you tried to at least spell correctly, thanks.

NOt only do I complain to management, but I also call the 800-WalMart number and complain. There are some very nice people who work there and will go out of their way to help you, but they are few and far between. That deli, with the exception of 2-3 of the associates, needs to be fired from manager all the way down.

It's horrible. I saw the other day where an employee was yelling and degrading another employee right in front of me. Sad that they don't care.

The lack of cashiers is a method they are using to drive you to the self-checkout. This accomplishes several things. First of all, it doesn't take a warm body, who has to be paid. Instead you have one warm body monitoring six or seven check-out lanes. It also cuts down on the amount of loss from checkers passing items without scanning for their friends and family. Third, it cuts down on theft by the cashiers. If they never touch the money, they can't steal it. If you stop and think about it, WalNutz NEVER advertises great service, just low prices. I'd rather pay a little more to avoid the annoyance and aggravation of buying in that hell-hole.

If you REALLY want to help turn this nation's economy around, shop small businesses. In our small businesses you will find items thoughtfully chosen, often exclusive to that shop, often made by local artisans and craftspeople, with attentive service and the knowledge that you are helping to support your local economy, and to me, THAT is worth paying a little extra for.

Well put, fwiw. If Wallyworld were to close completely, the only thing that would change is traffic on Keyser. Just my opinion,of course. I never shop there and would not miss it. I know there are plenty of folks that 'could not live without it',but not me. I would, however, feel for those who did do their jobs and lost them.

Sorry, not a single local shop offered the SLR digital camera I wanted at a price I could afford on Black Friday. Not only that, but I also purchased an extremely large, extremely pricey plasma screen TV for a ridiculously low price even before Thanksgiving Day and the B.F. sale. Walmart has been a fixture of our community for over 30 years and will continue to be as long as they offer incredible deals and friendly service. The last time I checked, almost all of their employees were local yokels, so if you have a problem with their service then I suggest you take it up with your neighbors. Nothing but good vibes and friendly service EVERY TIME I shop there. You want specifics, I'll save them for the inevitible rebuttal. I LOVE WALMART!

and what exactly is wrong with self-checkout? America was founded on the premise of DIY. If you are so lazy and stupid that you require a "warm body" to scan/bag your items for you, then go live in a communist country! I myself have the can-do attitude and spirit of individualism that our forefathers had, and am quite competent and trustworthy enough to scan my own items, thank you!
