As a business owner, I can say that my experience tells me that Virginia is a very business-unfriendly state. We wish we'd never moved our business here from Maryland. And this new law is ridiculous. How many small businesses can afford this kind of money -- even in good times? If it's a state highway & the state wants to control access, then the state needs to foot the bill, not push the cost off onto struggling businesses! Find every legislator who voted for this law & vote them out of office ASAP! And get some control over VDOT -- Virginia's official boondoggle agency!
