I'm not failing you here, the Board is. Was there any other 7 yr old allowed to try out for the 8/9 yr old team? Maybe your thinking he deserved to be there. Maybe you right. Did he make the team? I don't know either. Don't know a thing about that age group. Just have issue with negative stuff about a little kid. If you must, mention the father. That should suffice. Personally, I don't think any seven year old should be moved up to the next age group in baseball.

Former Coach Manager wrote: Straight from the North East Little League Web-site.... We are not looking to replace the entire board... just improving it... If you do a good job you get rewarded.... Notice of Election: Many local Little Leagues utilize the LLB/LLSB Sample Constitution (if your league does not, I highly recommend that the board review its current constitution and look towards adopting the Sample), which was written with the specific purpose of giving a local league a document that conforms to Robert's Rules of Order, State Laws, Federal Laws and Little League Rules, Regulations and Policies. In a local league and its constitution, written notice of the election (Annual Meeting) is delivered to ALL Regular Members (also defined in the league's constitution) in good standing, at least 10 days before the election. The process is by mail, unless an alternate process has been approved by the membership (not the board) in advance of the Annual Meeting. The notice includes the date, time and place of the Annual Meeting. Election Day: Usually, the best time to hold the election is the last week of September. This is because the fiscal year for Little League Baseball, Incorporated, starts on October 1st of each year. Electing a board in the spring or summer is allowed, but results in a "lame duck" board being in control for an extended period of time, until the fiscal year starts. Election Day Procedures: Determine if a quorum is present. If not, the election cannot take place. Membership should be limited to those who qualify as volunteers. Leagues having difficulty obtaining a quorum usually consider all parents to be members. Appoint an election Chairperson. Ratify the Membership and Membership list for those present, by election. Determine how many people will serve on the board of directors. The number must be at least the number listed in the constitution. Must be a minimum of seven (7)- President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary, Player Agent, Safety Officer and League Info. Off. The nominating committee presents its report on those who have agreed to serve. Nominations are not by position. Nominations are opened to the floor. Any Members is eligible for nomination. Nominations are closed by vote of Membership. Every Regular Member receives one ballot. Voters list names of eligible candidates in the number previously determined. Nominees must receive 51% of the vote to be elected. New Board is announced. Membership votes to approve the results of the election. New Board meets to elect officers from among its number. Establish meeting dates for the board. First official responsibilities: Notfiy the District Administrator, Regional Headquarters and International Headquarters, by mail , of the election results. At this time, the Board of Directors should also appoint a committee to conduct the background checks of board members and other volunteers who provide regular service to the league or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players and/or teams - LLB recommends the board to appoint the President and two other individuals to handle the background checks. These two individuals may be on the board or from outside the board. Sounds to me like none of the procedures were followed. It's time that LLBB,Inc. get involved.

Why can't people offer to give lessons to kids in the little league? Are you also saying you can't tudor in your own district now? You can give private instruction as long as the player is not on your team. That is no crime. Same as with tudoring in the school district. Do you have any idea how many kids are tudored by our own teachers? Better yet, does anyone know what they are talking about?

Private lessons, what kid didn't make travel team, politics of the sport, etc etc. These things are argued about in every community and is not limited to baseball or to Plainview. What is at issue is the stolen money. If Mr. Green is guilty of crime, it is a shame. Is he that rotten of a person, or did hardship drive to it (not an excuse, but would help explain). I don't know him well enough to have an opinion of him either way, but he and his family must be humiliated. Secondly what is a shame is that a trust has been broken that will taint every volunteer non-profit with suspicion regardless how pure it may be. RMN p.s. I may have know about Watergate, but that only made me a liar, not a crook. Right Checkers? Good boy........Hope there isn't anyone named Dean on the board of PLL, for Mr. Green's sake.

He wants people to say, there goes Mike Rose, he runs basketball.(like anyone should care at all) And if his son was umpiring baseball, I would bet he got paid his money.

The Board is hoping that all this will settle down so they can smooth talk the baseball comminity with their lies on how great their baseball program is. Tis Board WILL NOT step down as they should, becaise of egos. The corporation, Plainview Baseball Association has to disolved. And a new Little Leagie of Babe Ruth/Cal Ripkin charter be given to the new non-profit corporation. This will be very easy if a laywer would step foward and sue Plainview Baseball Assiciation on behalf of the parents in this league. Too much nonesense has gone on way too long! The "missing" money is just the cup overflowing and now everything else is starting to spill out.
Where are all the lawyers in Plainview with children in this league? We need you! For the immediate futher, as well as, long term, this change will benefit all our children

To set the record straight: I am NOT the person that leaked the minutes to the board meeting. I would do that. Anyone who knows me would know that I wouldn't do that. Even though I was removed from the board, I have no ill feelings towards any of the remaining members. I only wish that they would have told me that I was being removed BEFORE the fact, instead of having to find out about it in a letter delivered a week later. Enough said.

The courts are over run with stupid lawsuits. Good way to waste money from Plainview Baseball that would be use to buy equipment and fix the fields everyone is complaining about. Did you happen to think about what may happen to any baseball program while this is tied up in a lawsuit? Why don't we just call for a good, old-fashioned lynching?? That would certainly solve things.

Joe Kimmel Plainview NY wrote: Why wait until the D.A.'s investigation is complete. There are plenty of other issues to discuss. We could leave the Joe Green issue completely off the table and discuss how to fix all the other issues. The most important issue I think is elections. The executive board has no reason to fear being removed so they have grown very complacent. They think the league is theirs to do as they wish. I second the motion. The Board should not and cannot wait until the JG issue is settled. They have a league to run (into the ground?!?!) and there are many questions to be answered before the next season begins. There are plenty of issues to discuss w/o including JG.

Some didn't...I was there, if you were too than you know who I mean. But why would Joe Green Allow anothers board members son a tryout for the 8/9 yr old team when he was 7, in fact that child was playing in the instructual league, not minor C. If the child was in fact that good he would have been playing up. Does anyone know his name? You are not permitted to play up in intramurals. Only in summer travel.

If in fact there is 70k in the bank, I would spend it. A non for profit organization should end the fiscal year with a minimal amount of money in the bank. 70k would buy alot of equipment( UNLESS YOU ARE JOE GREEN)Whoever said the pool fields are in good shape are crazy. They just put new sod on the infield of the pool field last summer but never had someone water it.I could go on for hours. There are so many things needed, it would take a whole page on this blog. <quoted text> And every pithing mound in Plainview S*CKS!!! For years I have told any Board member who I would talk to that if you want to develop pitchers you have to take care of the mounds.

To you interested parents. just suppose you get the present board to quit. Now what. I suppose you have people all lined up to take the reins and begin to start all over again. Oh, of course. You would expect some of that present board to stick around and help out, so that there would be a seemless integration, and then this way nothing would change, and no charter would be lost. Yep. I can see that happening. In fact, I wouldn't blame the board if they upped and quit tomorrow. Then where would Plainview LL be?
