I am Glen Thurman Payne's son.....
If anyone knows Glen tell him his son, who he has hidden from his family and friends for almost 39 years, says "hello"....
Someday this will reach who it needs to, just the way I found out he didnt die in Vietnam, and now resides in Freindwoods with his unknowning wife Nancy..
Glen should man up and face his past, he now has grandchildren....
You were young and dumb in 1969, but you are now a man, act like it.

I dont need the money, actually quit working (retired) when I was 32 thanks to Silicon Valley. Im more worried about him knowing my net by the looks of his tax returns....

Second, not so much humiliate as to help him grow and live life... its not fair to those around him, the lie.

Thanx Friendswood in 2009, about five years ago when I found out he didnt die I did-- registered letter, photos, etc...he responded "it wasent a good time in his life" and "he would need some room", well its been 5 years Glen. Everyone has contacted me since then thanks to the web, his ex-girlfriends, his Marine buddies, and some school mates..We just sent our bi-annual Christmas card as well. The next step will take place on his porch, Im sorry but he ownes me that as a MAN.

If he's THAT clear about not wanting you in his life.......Why would you give him the benefit of knowing you and your children? Why would you want a man in your life who has never been there for you and who doesn't care if he sees you or not. You're a better man then that, You should pat yourself on the back for YOUR accomplishments that you've made WITHOUT Him! I wish you all the luck though.

Because as his son he deserves to meet him at least once. At the very minimum his father should give him a good health history. And maybe some family history. My daughters biological father has nothing to do with her. But you can bet that as soon as she is old enough I will give her all the information she needs to find him.

My three kids all have the same absentee father and took his inattention very hard. As adults, they understand it better but wish it could have been another way. They know that every time he didn't pick up the phone, send a birthday card or acknowledge a milestone in their lives, he was running away from the guilty feelings even thinking of them brought to the surface. It's unfortunate he was and is such a weak person but he is who he is. Some people just aren't capable of facing up to things and your dad sounds like such a person. You should show up on his porch one day, but for your own sake, make your presence known with a compassionate, forgiving spirit. Don't burden yourself with more pain and bitterness. You've been hurt enough.

Thanks everbody!!...it feels great to throw something like this out there and really helps to read what others have to say...my wife has been my only "ears" for 10 years....man, I love her.

Compassion and foregiveness are already in my mind set, Glenn was a whoping 19 years old when he "decided" to make a baby....there is/are no hard feelings towards any of his decisions....well, up until how he has chosen to handle this as a adult.

Alot of issues in life find their paths in odd and unforeseen directions and ways.....this will be one.

It will end up where it needs too.

I think a screenplay would be great, but with more of a "Platoon influenece" oh wait his cowardess father never went to Vietnam, maybe try
"Leave it to Beaver" influence but that would mean his father would have to quite lying to his current family, lets just use "The Jerk".
