Font Size:Default font sizeLarger font sizePolice in Nashville, Tenn., have determined that the driver of a sport utility vehicle involved in a fatal crash that killed a 33-year-old Bettendorf newlywed was at fault.

Police had said one of the vehicles was going in the wrong direction at the time of the crash that killed Kelly (Beard) McQuate and injured her husband, Mark McQuate, 45. She was driving a rented Nissan Altima at the time of the March 24 crash on Interstate 24. The couple was returning from Florida, where they had honeymooned.

No charges have been filed against Johnny Kindle, 45, of Clarksville, Tenn., who police say caused the accident.

The crash occurred when the couple's car collided with Kindle's Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Officers were unable to immediately determine the driver who was at fault because of the extreme wreckage.

Toxicology tests are pending for Kindle, according to police. Officers who responded to the scene said Kindle appeared to have been drinking.

Kelly McQuate's funeral was held Wednesday in Rock Island.

Where did you read this? Quote from the article from the bottom of the article..."Police were unable to immediately determine the driver who was at fault because of the extreme wreckage." "Toxicology tests are pending for Kindle, according to the police" "No charges have been filed against Johnny Kindle,45, of Clarksville, Tenn., who police say caused the accident." If you are going to post a quote, please post it accurately.
Before you go getting your panties in a wad about G-Oliver's comment, please take a moment to maybe consider the fact that maybe she was unable to find the most current news article printed. If you go back a couple of comments, you will see that I told her that I had read the most recent facts on the case and where to find them herself.

I do apologize for my earlier post. It just occured to me you may have read one of the other two articles in the QC Times regarding this. There have been three articles total written about this.
There's no apologies needed .. thanks ... I'm only seeking the truth .. that's all .. I mean no disrespect to Kelly, in any way ... it's the "journalist" in me ... I've been in the "media" business in one way or another over the last 25 years ... Can't seem to get away from the "investigator" portion ..

Bless you all ...

I am saddened by the loss of this pretty person, a mother, wife, daughter, aunt, friend. I am not against pot smoking, but I just wouldn't she would risk taking a hit on a strange road in the middle of the night, possibly yes, but most likely not.
The husband says, in our paper (QC'S IL/IA) he was sleeping. And our online paper posted the pot being inher car, but then that was removed on day two, now we are days out and it is back in the press. Just sick that all that has to be published to people that it don't matter too, it will only matter to the police, prosecutors, jury, judge and maybe the family, but to post it and let it be talked about is just STUPID press. I think the saying goes, gloat in someones misery, profit off despair.
People, People, People... don't push yourself to drive all day and night especially on strange roads.
It was an accident and accidents do sadly happen.
Blame may be necessary here since she left children behind, but true that NOTHING will bring her back.
RIP sweet one, RIP.
