All I have to say is it is a shame that they are low enogh to resort to that. I hope they get whai is coming to that. I know times are tough but surely they can find another way to get money than to steal a purse from an elderly woman.

Some of these stores may want to plant a decoy so a purse can be stolen. Have security watch them on camera, and once they start to walk out of the store, escort them back to the security office and beat them nearly unconscious. No one to film it and no outsider to witness it. "They started to fight me and I was in fear of my life". Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

One can see that gut pretty good on Mr. Tattoo trash. Dont look like he's missed many meals. That haint he's standing beside looks like she might have worked a few street corners in her time too.

another Idea for you purse carrying ladies, DONT CARRY ONE, carry some kinda pouch that goes around your waste, you dont need an actual purse for shopping, just what you need to shop with. if your stuff is around your waste and close to the front of you, they will have to risk injury to get it and they will move on to the next victim.. good luck to the people that use poor judgement and this happens to....

not everyone, just 1/3 LoL but thats EVERYWHERE!
point being, none of us should have to worry about our purses being stolen anywhere
they got enough gas in they vehicle to get to walmart, then they should have enough money to get what they need or sit they butts down till they do!

No we shouldn't,but these people like this have no respect for themselves or anyone else.I hope they catch them and lock them up.But they won't.Law enforcement is more worried about giving tickets for no seatbelt than they are getting criminals off the street. They get more money from people like that than they do from someone who steals for a living.Smyrna had very little crime until the started wanting to be the next Brentwood.Progress also brings crime.

Why are so many of you even bringing up the fact that times are hard now? Lets face it, these two losers are just scum. It wouldn't matter how the economy is, they would still be scum.

If I have to carry a purse into a store, I will put it in the seat part of the cart and snap the seatbelt around the strap. I always keep one hand on my purse and never let it out of my sight. God help the SOB that tries to snatch it. He/she will wish they hadn't after the hurting I put on their ignorant assssses. But for most senior citizens.....they should always strap their purses in the cart and keep a hand on it at all times. A purse snatcher will have to drag the cart away with him/her and make a scene bringing attention to himself. DO NOT put the strap on your shoulder.....it can be easily jerked off in a second.

This idiot named "yeah" doesn't even know if these
purse snatchers are even from Smyrna. Just because they were in the Smyrna Walmart doesn't mean they were from Smyrna.

I do not know why the guy wasted time distracting the victim. Everytime I go to the store I can spot at least two women who will be easy to rip off, and that is without really trying to look. I see women all the time away from the cart, back turned, and purse sitting right out in the open.

As far as the story goes, I am not sure which is worse, the crime or the article. LOL

I think they need to be found, strapped to the ground and then allow every elderly/disabled person run them over with a motorized shopping cart (loaded with frozen hams, turkeys and all the canned goods that fit) as many times as these folks want. Why should only the police/security folks get all the satisfaction? LOL
