Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor
Eaton Corporation’s Fluid Conveyance Division (Eaton Hydraulics), has an opening for Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor. The position is based in Gainesboro, TN.
The Gainesboro facility has approximately 115 employees and is a leader in high-volume turned parts machining for the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
This role supervises a variety of engineering assignments related to supporting machining operations. The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing and machining processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards, and recommends and implements improvements to production and machining processes, methods and controls. Activities also include specifying and selecting equipment, gages, methods and providing detailed instructions to ensure the highest Quality and cost effective product.
Supervises the day-to-day direction of hourly employees in this positions headcount, Including Tool Room activities, EDM technicians, Purchasing Clerk, and Receiving clerk.
Perform tool designs for multi Spindle bar machines, while establishing layouts for optimum efficiency.
Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, machining methods, and production equipment.
Must understand operation, and programming for EDM operations.
Develop and establish metal cutting machinery processes including programming CNC equipment, establish routings, and provide detailed operating instruction documents for machined parts.
Direct the procurement of specialized machine tools and gages by evaluating design concepts, initiating orders, and justifying expenditures.
Coordinate and direct machine selection and cost justification. Interview suppliers, perform machine run offs, and approve machining capability of new capital equipment.
Implement changes and improvements in machine tooling, gaging, and inspection methods to produce a higher quality product.
Evaluate the performance and knowledge of machine technicians in the certification program.
Participate in design review of product drawing, making suggested changes when needed.
Examines manufacturing operations to identify and implement alternatives for reducing waste, reducing costs, and improving product quality and lead times.
Responds to concerns from the production floor and customers; recommends product/process improvements as appropriate.
Leads and/or participates in all Advanced Quality Planning efforts for product/process launch or changes. Including PPAP submission to customers.
Evaluates and plans new capital expenditures for new products and analyzes current products and processes for cost reductions and increased productivity.
Maintains an open and effective relationship with equipment suppliers, other Eaton locations, and customers to better assess our products and process.
Coordinates delivery dates of equipment with riggers, electricians, and maintenance in order to assure timely and successful implementation of equipment.
Functions as liaison between customers, product support engineering, and the Tech Center engineering group.
Works to determine cause of failure for any customer or internal issues that would affect product reliability and provide corrective actions.
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution required
•Minimum 2 years engineering experience required
