Metro council scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday night on the proposed adult business zoning rules.

i live in this area and i do not like the idea of it. they need to move. my daughter that is 4 asked me about that store because the sign is huge.i told her it said ADULT and then she asked why does that sign say that right there and i had to change the subject. i dont like it.it make west nashville look worst then it really is.

There was such a big fuss in Murfreesboro about the one that opened here. I haven't seen any problem with it. I've been in the store here myself. It beats having to drive all the way to Nashville. I have a daughter that is 6. If I were to drive by that place and my daughter were to ask me about the store I'd say it's for adults only. If she continued asking I'd tell her that we would talk about it when she gets older or if you have never been in the store then tell her that you don't know what all is in there because you've never been in there. It's as simple as that. I just don't understand what the big fuss is about. Adults have been using "toys" for years.

MurfreesboroMom I like that store as well. I remember when it first opened and everyone wanted it shut down saying it will bring in the bad element, but so far everyone I have encountered in there has been decent people.

Now Smynra quickly changed their zoning rules so the same thing does not happen there. You can open up an adult bookstore in Smyrna, but just in the shady part of town where good people will avoid, and shady people will hang out.

The reason people thinks these type of stores will bring in the bad element is because they look at the areas of town that these stores was forced to operate. My trips to Hustler in Nashville, and to the store in Murfreesboro has always been good, the stores have been clean, the staff professional, and the customers have been decent.

I live blocks from this joint; it was a surprise when it showed up. The "fuss" is that an establishment such as this caters to a specific, low-class element of society. Sterotypical or not, it is generally believed that such people have lowered impulse control, especially in the area of sex. We don't need such problems introduced into our quiet neighborhood. And, once there, they don't leave. For example, speak to the folks at the BMW dealership on White Bridge, next door to the adult video place. They tell tales of cleaning up everything from needles to condoms in their parking lot from the patrons next door. And they're within 300 feet of a school! Thanks, but no thanks. RESIDENT OF NASHVILLE the many bars in that area is better places for predators to prey. So far I have not heard of one problem with the stores like Hustler or 21 and Up, but I have heard several news reports regarding bars. Go into Hustler or 21 and Up and see how many people are there to be picked up, dressed trashy, or trying to hit on any one, and then go to the bars and compare notes.

By the way, both stores I mentioned will kick you out if you try to pick people up there.

I actually sell for a company that does in home parties for women and that DOES NOT make me lower class, a bad person or a "perv" as you call it. I have done many parties for high class women. Not all people that want to have a little extra fun are only lower class.

Kids are not allowed in, so how would they know what a dildo is, besides from TV, internet, or their friends. Why would kids be playing in this parking lot, or any other parking lot for that matter?
