I agree we did choose to be out for 29days, and on the day we left we informed our Trip manager Andrew and Stan that we had to be back on the evening of the 29th day. You may think it was greed, but know we really loved our job, doing something that needed to be done. With the added bonus that we got to travel and see all parts of this great country. The only part of the job that sucked was the sub standard vans, which was promised several times to agent, NEW VANS were on the way. Exhaust leaks, reported on several occasions all the mechanic did was change the damn number on the van from 19 to make it van 1... that is FACT, knew the agent that called in with same problem we just reported, the mechanic brought us another van went back and did nothing making us and our prisoners sick.

When Stan left the company, The company went to hell in a hand basket. He was the only person in the office agents could trust or take at their word. The agents that died didn't have to But due to comany greed and being pushed to drive way more than you should caused their deaths and the prisners death. I pray for the agents which I knew personally, and the prisoners. There are lots of problems we can discuss if you want email me i left mine on here for anyone to email. Or we can keep this in the PUBLIC EYE thats good for me too. AND FACT I HOPE YOU DO KNOW ME, I DONT CARE I ONLY SPEAK THE TRUTH, I WILL LET MY LIFE AND CRIMINAL HISTORY STAND FOR THEM SELVES. I MAY BE ONE THING BUT I DO HAVE A VERY GOOD REPUTATION FOR TELLING THE TRUTH NO MATTER WHAT. May GOD forgive PTS for all the deaths and escapes of real criminals they have caused

i have read all your comments and some i agree with and disagree, but how long have you been gone. We havent had diesel van in about 2 or more years. Also from agents that i talk to,due to the fact i wasnt hired when the guy stan was there. but i heard he was the biggest crook there was. Stealing money from the company also arrest for shop lifting. so that why they fired him. i was hired by drew and he treated me with respect and i enjoyed working for the company. Yes pts has a lot of flaws, but what company dont. Pts is work in progress. They need to work on alot of issues that they got very lax on.When i worked for them, yeah it was crazy sometimes but you knew what was expected from the 1st week you started, if you didnt like traveling and driving long hours you should have quit. I dont think its right to neglect the prisoners hurt in the wreck.Hopefully they get treated medically and recover.Accidents happen people get hurt. It might have been careless mistake on the agents to fall asleep.Noboby is perfect,If the agents did fall alseep then why? There are 24 hrs in a day, u know that you need to schedule time when you are on the road to sleep and drive.Pts has no schedule for that, its up to u and your partner to do. I did know the bomans and i was very sad to hear that they had been killed. The were one of the original teams at pts. They lived to do this job and took pride in it. In my opion they died for a company they loved to work for. We shouldnt be talking politics or law suites we should be talking about honoring the service and dedication of the bowmans. And for the record no i am not a trip manager or office staff member. i am a fomer employee. At first i was mad that pts fired me since i got arrested but it was my stupidty not theirs. I dont hold any regrets or bad feeling towards pts. All i will say to them is that they need to step up there game and stop getting so relax with there agents.Safety should be the main concern on there minds right now. Hiring well trained people for the job and setting some kind of safety regulations for their agents, from driving hours, to inmate control. hiring wal mart employees with no experince in the field isnt going to cut it.

1 dead, others injured in Miss. prisoner van crash

The Associated Press

Monday, September 07, 2009

HATTIESBURG, Miss. Prisoners were being treated under guard at a hospital after a private prisoner van crashed in southern Mississippi, killing the driver and injuring several others.

The van was carrying three guards and nine inmates when it drove off an interstate Sunday, hitting an embankment and trees before flipping over, police said. One guard and two prisoners were in critical condition late Sunday.

The van was carrying prisoners from Texas and Louisiana to different detention centers located along the East coast. All 12 occupants had to be cut from the crumpled wreckage of the white van, which lay on its roof with its windows shattered amid broken trees.

"The vehicle left the roadway on the right shoulder, collided with a raised embankment and slid and hit a couple trees before landing on its roof," Hattiesburg police spokesman Synarus Green told The Associated Press.

The van's driver, a 50-year-old security officer for a private prisoner transport agency, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash off Interstate 59 in the Hattiesburg area, police said.

Green said another security guard and six other prisoners remained hospitalized with various injuries. Another prisoner was treated and released Sunday and was being held at a regional jail in Forrest County, he added.

Hattiesburg police officers were helping guard the prisoners at the hospital, Green said.

"We will make arrangements to get them back to where they came or the locations they were headed to," he said.

The van was operated by a company called Prisoner Transport Services, police said.

"Most of the prisoners were either from Louisiana or Texas and going to some portion of the United States," Green said, adding injured prisoners reported they were asleep when the crash occurred around 7 a.m. Sunday.

Green had no further details on where the prisoners came from, nor their identities and where they were headed. He said no foul play was suspected and the van was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

He said the van landed amid broken trees, complicating rescue crews' work.

"The front nose of the van is kind of short. So when it crushed back it kind of pinned both doors and so both of the front passengers had to be cut out. And they cut off the front end of the vehicle so where the prisoners were it's all closed off with the mesh gates over the windows so those they had to be cut out as well," Green said.

Green said authorities were not releasing further information about the driver until relatives have been notified. Other occupants also were not identified.

I'd just like to congratulate the worthless cold hearted, greedy, cheap bastards at PTS for their SECOND FATAL CRASH IN THE PAST MONTH!
If the safety of the drivers and the HUMAN (Yes, folks, inmates ARE human) cargo which they transport were a priority, these two tradgedies would not have happened. If the drivers drove for a decent (NOT FORTY EIGHT HOURS PER TEAM) number of hours before rest, neither of these accidents would have happened.
Police: 1 dead, 3 critical in prisoner van crash

Ryan Whitten, director of operations, said the Nashville, Tenn.-based company would not release the identity of the driver or any other information about the wreck Monday but might do so Tuesday.
The company's Web site says Prisoner Transport Services has contracts with federal and state agencies. Whitten would not say whether the prisoners in the van that wrecked were federal or state inmates.
Green said were either from Louisiana or Texas. He said the injured reported they were asleep when the crash occurred around 7 a.m. Sunday.

My God people. The whole thing about this is that it was a ACCIDENT.. I am sure some you have had accidents. When you did where, you put through these kinds of comments.. A accident is a accident. Yes it is very sad that people have died. No one but the ones that have died know just what happen
The accidents was not through fault of bad vans or faulty equipment. It was a ACCIDENT. Just say a prayer for the families of the agents who died

what about the prisoners dont they get a little common curiosty. You should say lets pray for the families of the fallen agents and the families of the priosners that were injuired or killed during both transports. That is the right thing to say...Its not saying who's fault it was or how much money i can get from pts company. That matters that somebody can take up in the future. The point is right now, yes accidents do happen, but you you had a heart you would understand that thoses people was somebody husband, wife ,brother friend or relative. How would you act or what whould you say if that was one of your family members or friends.Give these people there moment of silence and memeorial, if not you are all greedy bastards.I AM ABOUT A 100% SURE YOU WORK FOR PTS IN THE OFFICE.Have a heart

No I don't work for PTS. I have a heart. Love ones are lost, never ever coming back. The greedy people are the ones that sue over a accident. There is no other way to put it.. It was a ccident. What about the drivers, you blaming them..Not me. I am sure not one of these people were thinking..gee let me get into a accident today. I don't know any of these people but I am sure they were all good people. Prisoners included. So your saying we should then sue the killed driver for the accident. Where is your Heart..Accidents happen to good people too

apperently u have missed my point.i was expressing the fact that everbody needed to pay respect to the fallen agents...plus theinmates that were killed in transport...and the inmates and the agents that were hurt in the wreck in miss.Inmate are people too. They also have families and friends. They might have broken the law but they are still human. To the fact on lawsuites, Me personally i disagree with it if the medical needs are met by the company. I belive that if the company paid aleast a percentage of their medical expences would be great.I dont beleive in law suites trying to get money from companies for any un biding reason.I think that if pts showed a little compasion to this by making sure these people are treated, then i believe that most of this crap about law suites and legal action would go away. I am not blaming anybody for these accidents, like i said accidents do happen and people get hurt or even killed but if i was transporting people/inmates/governor of texas and i had a wreck, i would make sure that they were treated medically and make some arrangment to pay for their treatment. Thats what insurance is for.Pts has this kinda of insurance to do this if not then the state would not allow them to transport.

I have been reading all these post that have been posted. All i have to say is that you guys can fight back and forth all you want to, But dont loose focus on the main issue. We have suffered a great lose in the past 2 months.

I would like to pay my respects to The Bowman family for the loss of 2 great agents that I was honor to know. You guys will be missed

I would also like to pay my repects to the Families of the inmates that were injured or were killed in the wrecks.

Also i would like to pay my resepects and sadness to Tony Farley family for their loss. Farley was a great agent and i was honored to have the previlage to work with this great agent. You will be missed

We have lost 3 great agents and a inmate..May God be with their families during this time of grief.

We can argue back and forth who fault it was and who should be held liable. I have my personal opinion on it and i am going to keep it.

All i will say is accidents do happen but there is also what they call prevented maintance on safety.
