We know coach Henrie is not capable of such acts. I completely trusted my child in his hands at all times as his basketball coach as well as an incredible mentor to my son. This is crazy! I feel an attempt for attention and maybe a payoff for the accuser. A sick joke!!!

Darren Herie may not seem like he is capabe of such acts. But i am sure that we all thought the same for Joe Paterno and all those catholic priests. This is what predators do. They hide like cowards, behind positions that not only kids look up to but parents as well. Let the investigators do their job and then we can judge. The police wouldn't have arreste him if they didn't have something that supported the young man who has so bravely come forward. Though not mentioned in the above article, 3 other young men have come forward as well. This can be supported by a call to the Franklin police. Public knowledge. If he is found guilty, then let him spend 1000 yrs. having done to him what he did to these boys!

How many news interviews of neighbors of serial killers, pedophiles, etc go like this; he was a normal guy, he kept to himself, I didn't see this coming. It's not like people walk around with a sigh saying "I like teenage boys." You never truly know what a person is capable of. I don't know if he did it or not. That will be up to a jury of his peers.

Please when posting utilize accurate data. Joe Paterno was not accussed nor indicted on any such charges as this gentleman. Jerry Sandusky on the other hand was. Ignorance of facts only cultivates further ignorance and it takes on a life of its own. I imagine most want punishment to the umpteeth is this man did in fact do the horrific things he has been charged with. I also hope and pray that most remember the men and women who were vilified, burned at the stake, and ruined only to be found absolutely innocent.

Anyone that knows this man, knows something was not right with him. Ask any parent who had kids that played for him. There were way too many "strange" things that occurred and happened with the kids. It was common knowledge among people in the basketball and school community. The facts will prove all this. It's just sad that the school was warned by MANY people that something wasn't right and apparently no one ever looked into it...Maybe this could have been prevented!

What 'things' were known about Henrie? What warning signs were ignored?

Those of you who believe everyone arrested is quilty, allow me to enlighten you. My fifteen year old nephew was arrested at his school just because a girl said he touched the front of her chest. My nephew told the school officials and police offers that he had ruffled the decorative layers that were running down the front of her shirt in a flirtious manner. We requested that others who saw the incident be interviewed and that the school video tapes be checked. NONE of this was done! The police took him away, and it took over six hours a thousand dollars and a lawyer to find out just where he was taken! That is only the beginning of the nightmare our family went through. And it was all started by school officials and the police deciding my nephew's innocence or guilt. As a nation we no longer believe in "presumed innocence." Now, imagine yourself falsely accused and arrested. This false charge all over the newspapers and, worst of all the Internet. Even when proven innocent ,few people are aware because this information "may" be printed in some back section of the paper, but the first information lives on in cyberspace. Now, try to get that to go away or even be corrected. Don't believe every thing you read; the next victim of this system may well be YOU...

I pray for coach. I knew him while working at CHS as a sub and couldn't see this happening. I pray that he is innocent. It is too easy to be accused.

My son played basketball for him and there were definitely many red flags. I spoke with parents about this but no one would believe it. He came to my house and played video games with some boys and when I went to see them he was behind the boys and trying to make them sit as closely as they could to him. My son said he felt uncomfortable. He often had the boys over for wrestling on his bed. That was plenty for me my son never went anywhere with this guy again. He definitely sent out red-flags but everyone wants their son to play on the court so sometimes they are look over.

Pled guilty today to all 3 counts. 6 years in prison, will serve 1 in jail and 5 in supervisd probation. After all the red flags seems like Darren is waving the white. How do you feel about having him around your kids now?

I know Darren. He confessed to me. He has abused boys for decades. Pray that darkness comes to light so no other boys suffer including his son. Pray for Darren.
