Don't be fooled. I don't even, now, think this is a Woman. If it is, she's working with the one who won't leave me alone & follows me everywhere I go, causing trouble. But, I suspect it may be him, himself. He's changes his Name & Location with practically every Post & he posts as both Male & Female with different personas, but they're ALL "over the top"! How many of these stalker/harassers do you think you have? It must flatter you to at least get attention on the internet, because you sure as hell wouldn't get it in the real world.

An open letter to the people who hate Obama more than they love America
I meet you all the time. You hate Obama. You hate gay people. You hate black people, immigrants, Muslims, labor unions, women who want the right to make choices concerning their bodies, you hate em all. You hate being called racist. You hate being called a bigot. Maybe if you talked about creating jobs more than you talk about why you hate gay people we wouldn't call you bigots. Maybe if you talked about black people without automatically assuming they are on food stamps while demanding their birth certificates we wouldn't call you racist. You hate socialism and social justice. You hate regulations and taxes and spending and the Government. You hate.
You like war. You like torture. You like Jesus. I don't know how in the hell any of that is compatible, but no one ever accused you haters of being over-committed to ideological consistency. You like people who look like you or at least hate most of the things that you hate. You hate everything else.
Now, I know you profess to love our country and the founding fathers (unless you are reminded that they believed in the separation of church and state), but I need to remind you that America is NOT what Fox News says it is. America is a melting pot, it always has been. We are a multi-cultural amalgamation of all kinds of people, and yet you still demonize everyone who is not a rich, white, heterosexual christian male or his submissive and obedient wife.
You hate liberals, moderates, hell, anyone who disagrees with Conservative dogma as espoused by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You hate em.
Well, here are the facts, Jack. If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don't like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that's not what I am here to tell you.
Now that you have thrown everything and the kitchen sink at President Obama and it still hasn't worked you are panicking. Obama's approval ratings are still near 50% despite your best efforts to undermine the economy and America's recovery at every step you can. You tried to hold the American economy hostage to force America into default on its' debts, debts that YOU rang up under Bush, so you could blame it on Obama and it failed. You've used the filibuster more than any other Congress ever, going so far as to vote against providing health care access to 9/11 first responders. You remember 9/11, don't you, it's that thing you used to lie us into a war in Iraq, and then when Obama killed Bin Laden and ended the war in Iraq you told people that he hates America and wants the troops to fail. You monsters. You hate Obama with a passion, despite the fact that he is a tax cutting, deficit reducing war President who undermines civil rights and delivers corporate friendly watered down reforms that benefit special interests just like a Republican. You call him a Kenyan. You call him a socialist. You dance with your hatred singing it proudly in the rain like it was a 1950's musical.
Frankly, you disgust me. Your hatred nauseates me. Your bigotry offends me. Your racism revolts me.
Dear haters, I am openly questioning your patriotism.
I think you hate gays, Obama, black people, poor people, all of us, women, atheists and agnostics, Latinos, Muslims, Liberals, all of us, I think you hate every one who isn't exactly like you, and I think you hate us more than you love your country.
I think you hate gay soldiers more than you want America to win its wars.

I don't even think you want America to win wars, you just want America to have wars, never ending wars and the war profiteering it generates. You love that kind of spending, you love spending on faith based initiatives and abstinence based sex education (George Carlin would have loved that one), you love spending on subsidies for profitable oil corporations, you spend like drunken sailors when you are in the White House, but if it is a Democrat then suddenly you cheer when America doesn't get the Olympics because it might make the black President look bad. But oooh you love your country, you say, and you want it back. Well listen here skippy, it isn't your country, you don't own it, it is our country, and America is NOT the religiously extremist Foxbots who hate science, elitist professors and having a vibrant and meaningful sex life with someone we love if Rick Santorum doesn't approve of it. Rick Santorum isn't running for America's fucking high school dance chaperone, he should probably just shut the hell up about sex, but he can't because he has nothing else to run on.

Republicans can NOT win on the issues. They've got NOTHING. All they have is a divide and conquer class war that pits ignorant racist and bigoted people against the rest of us in a meaningless battle of wedge issues and the already proven to fail George W. Bush agenda again of tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, privatization and war profiteering and nothing else, so all they can do is blame black people, gays the government, anybody and everyone else for their own failings. The party of personal responsibility, my ass.

But they love multi-national corporations, just ask a gay hating and racist religious extremist if they think Corporations are people and they will gladly agree, but if you ask them if gay people are people they aren't so sure.

Dear haters, you are the cruel, heartless misinformed assholes who would sell America out to Haliburton in a heartbeat, you would rather pay ZERO taxes than you would see a newly born baby get access to quality health care, you cheer when we discuss denying health care to young people with preventable diseases, and you boo when we discuss the First Ladies plan to cut back on childhood obesity. You are a cross to carry and a flag to wrap yourself in away from being the people who Sinclair Lewis warned us about, but I guarantee that if Fox News told you to dress that way you would, because you are the same blind, ignorant and closed minded dunces who drove this country into a civil war years ago because you are bound to the notion that some men are more equal than others. In short, the reason I proudly wear my union army hat is because of seditious sell outs like you who constantly fuck over working class Americans so a foreign entrepreneur like Rupert Murdoch can get a bigger tax break. If corporations are people, they are neither American patriots nor capable of love. Just like you.

So stop wearing your hate with pride. Stop celebrating your anti-science, anti-math ignorance. Stop using code words to mask your bigotry like "family values", especially when you hate my family and when you stand on the same stage as a guy who has had three marriages or if you share a seat in the Senate with a guy who cheated on his wife with hookers while wearing diapers. You should be ashamed. I know that you are just doing this to motivate your misinformed hate cult base because if they actually knew that your ideas will make them poorer than they are now, they would never vote for you. You are doing your best to impoverish your countrymen so rich people can get bigger tax breaks and you can keep on delivering corporate welfare to the special interests who have bribed you, and I am disgusted by the way you gleefully parade your hatred with aplomb. I don't think you do love America. At least, not as much as you hate everyone in America who isn't exactly like you.

You should think about that, and maybe get some help.

Obama releases campaign strategy. No talk about jobs, economy, national defense, placating our enemies, creating massive debt, back breaking regulations or stopping domestic energy from succeeding...nope his 2012 campaign is:

Its still Bush's fault and if not, you're a racist.

Did anyone really expect anything substantial or something that actually addressed America's problems!!!

The way I understand how Bain works, if a company is failing, they come in and either try to salvage it from mishandling (their first desired outcome) or sell and make a profit. It is NOT Bain's fault that it was failing in the first place. If it is salvageable...they do so, as it makes more money for them. So, please tell me why this is a bad thing.

Words of wisdom from Dear Leader:

"Until there are women who tell her ignore our pop culture obsession over beauty and fashion and focus instead on studying and inventing and competing and leading,”

Good Advice. No argument there. Rah, rah.

“she'll think those are the only things that girls are supposed to care about. Now, Michelle will say there's nothing wrong with caring about that a little bit," Obama said in his commencement speech.

"You can be stylish and powerful too," Obama said.

Yes you can baby! Go for it.

Well, hey, OT. Long time, how are things with the land and cattle baron?
As to the poor, Tim is correct, unless you are physically or mentally disabled, being poor is a personal failing. Poor choices and sloth and ignorance and gaming the system rather than working hard and getting a good education and thrift, lead to poverty. I believe that Tim was also blaming blaming radical unionism, as practiced by the public sector unions, not all unions. we realize the contributions made by the long ago unions. As to believing that Tim is honest about dealing with the poor, I have a hard time believing that you were once a Republican and they left you, not that you left them. As a self professed Socialist, your words, I don't believe the Republican Party ever appealed to you.
Been fishing, golfing and watching baseball, how about you?
Things are fine here Vet.I guess you have been at your undisclosed location and missed all those posts Timbuck made about unions going all the way back to a northern closed shop, grocery chain huh Vet ? That chain has not existed in years, so those union opinions are NOT about public sector unions, nor does Timbuck "realize the contributions made by long ago unions".
You do though... because I seem to remember your personal story and a union job propelled your family forward and helped you get an education...right Vet ?
Being poor is a personal failing only to some of the rich, and then only because it might cost them a few more pennies on their tax bill. If not for that, the rich have a vested interest in keeping the poor that way.
I have no obligation to explain my personal journey to you. Suffice to say that in the autumn of my life I came to realize what was important and what was not. Money came in WAY down the list.

OT, I don't think there can be any doubt whatsoever that ideology behind unions has advanced the working-man's plight immeasurably in time's past. But currently? I'm not so sure. Immediately comes to mind is the powerful teacher union in their protection of its members versus the efficacy of our educational system..which has been slowly eroding for a couple decades now..for many reasons: the union being one of them, as well as the breakdown of the family unit and parenteral involvement. 2-3 years ago, I "inherited" a 1-room schoolbook my father used in 8th grade. Its contents were simply astonishing. I feel certain few high school seniors graduating today, could have passed the course.

Your figures are wrong. For every ONE you describe, there are 100 who don’t give a crap. That’s why the number of people on the public dole has swelled beyond belief. The person you describe is not on food stamps, and probably wouldn’t take them if his family was starving. He has pride. Our schools and social programs have destroyed pride. Our government and the media have made church, unless it’s a muslim one, a bad thing.
My next door neighbor is one such person. He drove 100 miles every day to work. His three kids did not get food stamps because he made just a little too much, and didn’t qualify. He even took on some foster kids to help with the $$$.
Now that construction work has dried up, he’s losing his house. And because he was an independent contractor, he doesn’t qualify for unemployment. But the scumbag in town with 4 kids is happy as a big in a rug watching Judge Judy.
This winter he asked if he could cut down a dead tree in my yard. He needed the wood to heat his house. The scumbag in town signed an application for electric assistance, and walked out with a check.
And no, the scumbag in town does not attend church. But that doesn’t stop him from going to the church to beg for rent money. And they give it to him until they figure him out. Then he moves on to another church. Fortunately, for him, there’s plenty of churches here.
Believe me, OT, I have no problem with helping the poor person you describe. But I’ve found that they are too proud to accept something for nothing, and that is exactly where I think our social programs go wrong. They give away stuff without expecting anything in return.
Your poor person would expect to do some sort of work in exchange for whatever you gave. The scumbag in town, now expects you to give, and is not interested in doing anything.
How about this? We’ll give you unemployment for six months, during which time, you need to find a job. After that, we expect you to put in 20 hours of community work, while still looking for a job. After that, we figure that you’re not really interested in looking for a job.
We’ll give you food stamps, but you’ll have to put in 10-15 hours per week working in a food kitchen for the poor. Your kids can eat there too for free. In the very least, we’ll know they’re getting better food than frozen pizza.
I’d be all on board for programs like that.
All I know is that the way we’re doing it now is creating a permanent class of poor who expect things for free, and are not willing to put out any kind of effort to lift themselves out of their lot in life. Worse, they’re passing this attitude down to their kids.
Well Timbuck, we will have to agree to disagree. I have no idea where you live but I live in one of the statistically poorest counties in East Tennessee, I have been extensively involved in community outreach and this place is nothing like your description.
Have we got those who game the system ? yes. Are they the majority ? not by a LONG shot.
I am reminded of Reagan and the woman driving a cadillac wearing a fur coat dripping in jools and paying for her groceries with food stamps. Only a fool would believe that .....ooops...the majority did and he got elected. In my opinion, his policies have done more to destroy this country than LBJ's war on poverty ever did.

During the Great Depression and World War II the rich faced a 90% marginal tax rate, and were happy to pay in order to alleviate poverty and fight fascism. Now you're suggesting they take up arms against the government? Are the privileged and fortunate really now so greedy that they would rather become traitors than help this country recover and grow?
The "rich" are now so greedy that they "would rather become traitors" than pay a lousy three percent more than they do now ! Never mind 90%! Heck Perry suggested Texas should leave the union and a 90% rate was NEVER contemplated.
The rich get most of their money from capital gains and that rate has been capped at 15% and is not subject to social security taxes. They have bought themselves congressmen and senators and eventually an entire party in an effort to keep it that way. All the while blaming the less fortunate for being poor ! Priceless.

Would you take that deal?
Seriously. Would you work and take the risks necessary to earn a million just to take home $100K? no one would be that stupid.
Apparently you have a short memory or you are not as old as I thought you were. A 90%+ tax rate for the very wealthy was in place when I was born and stayed that way when I entered the workforce, when I married and when I built my first house. Where were you ?
I do not recall any rich person jumping out of windows because of that rate, nor do I remember any of them becoming poor as a result. EVERYONE still wanted to be rich, since it is much more fun than being poor, contrary to what some conservatives would have us believe.(unless of course you spend all your time worrying about who might be after your money or waht tax rate you might have to pay next year) NOT taking the deal was not an option. That was the top tax rate period.
