I noticed all of the prior postings have been removed. Too much honest negativity? You guys won't last. Your portions are stingy, your management is rude and they treat their employees like second class citizens. Also- You guys are ripping off your employees. YOU WILL BE CAUGHT.

Funny stuff. Somebody dislike negativity I guess. Not sure why so many are down on the Grady Davids. Where I was born and raised we had restaurants everywhere. The choices are endless. But here in the Morgantown area...nothing!! It's a disgrace really. I'll agree that they have some work to do, but I'm elated that we finally have a real restaurant. Can I get a second?

I have eaten there twice and had a very good time on both occasions. Personally I am thrilled to have someplace out here to eat OTHER then a major chain location.

As for the workers ?. I don't know, they have been very nice as well.

Oh and as one more note. First time we ate in the main dining area, it was ok but felt a little stuffy. Second time we ate in the small bar area off the main floor and it was much more comfortable. In the bar area I have to say that Erin rocked. She was awesome serving the tables and keeping up with the small bar area.

To be completley honest, Grady Davids sucks. The food is not that great, especially for the beefed up prices. I'm positive I can name atleast ten restaurants with more flavorful food and reasonable prices. The only reason people are praising it is because 1. it is the first "up scale" restaurant in this area and 2. they don't really know what "fine dining" is. The management at Grady Davids treats their employees with disrespect and hositlity, I should know, I worked there. Between never recieving fair pay, the dishonesty, the hostile enviroment, as well as the managements attitude towards all their workers, I had no other chocie but to stick up for myself and quit. I called other former employees and they quit for the same reasons, it is not just me. If anyone out there has heart you will boycott this pile of bricks they call a restaurant until they stop exploiting minors, and start giving fair wages, abiding by the law, and treating their employees with the dignity and respect they deserve. We have to let the management know that just because we are minors, doesn't mean that you can treat us inhumanely.

Tina, Tina, Tina...it's obvious you are a jaded ex-employee....and this is no place to air your dirty laundry. People read these sites to get a feel for the restaurant and to learn a little bit about pricing, atmosphere and food before heading there. No one cares (except you) about your differences with the food or management. Your posting says you are from Villanova....their are plenty of upscale restaurants in that area that may be good enough for you to work in...move on.

WEllll let me tell you about my 2 experiences at grady davids. you order a glass of wine...wow i couldnt believe how small it was. It is nice inside, especially all the tvs downstairs. But most of the customers down stairs are a bunch of hicks and if you dress up too nicely you look very out of place. And if you walk down there with a half decent looking girl its even more akward, they act like they never saw a girl before.

For those that are here to talk about the restaurant itself, I REALLY enjoyed the flatbread pizza we had, and the great beers they had to offer. Would def. go again!

hey coatesville person..........
i've been to Grady David's numerous times and have eaten down stairs, dressed(i have owned my own business for some 20+years) and know i'm not considered a hick. the food was good the service very good, and i continue to go back. i was born in coatesville, raised there and honeybrook, and be sure the hicks you saw in HB, were probably from coatesville..........

My mother always told me...."If you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all." So, here's my nice thing to say,.....

"Grady Davids doesn't make beer, they only sell it! So, the beer is good!"

PS The food sucks (sorry Mom).

I was there a couple of weeks ago with some friends and I thought the food was pretty good. In my opinion the wings there were the best around. I also had the tuna and it was great! As for the service it wasn't that good. And considering I have been in the resturant bus. for years I have high expectations for a server. I cant knock her too hard though they were slammed!!! That is obviously saying something for the place. I would rate my first experience there a 7 out of 10. Maybe next time it will be different. I am deffinatly curious to find out.
And as far as the atmosphere went. I thought it was great. I love the look of the place and for the crowd, I enjoyed that there was a variety. It was interesting. I will deffinatly be back!!!

Funny, because then you neglect to do so. Where's this Hot Top Ten list you speak of? It's been over four months now and you're still not able to back up your argument.

Obviously neither do you! Grady David's has never marketed themselves as a "Fine Dining" Restaurant. So for you to infer that they do, and fall short, is way off the mark.

WOW. Really. WOW!{Disclaimer: I am not an employee of Grady David's, but I AM a former employee; one who left on good terms}. I am very sorry for your experience there. I have to say that the most I had heard about the "younger" staff or perhaps "minor age" staff, if you will, is that there were some, NOT ALL, who felt that they could show up to work whenever they felt like rolling in. Often with such grave excuses as, "I went to a friend's house after school and lost track of time."
That is absolutely ludicrous! Jobs are a responsibilty; usually not ones to be taken lightly. I'm not saying YOU were this person or person(s) in question, I'm just saying that to post vague, general comments in a forum such as this is unfair, to say the least. You don't back up your case with anything substantiative. And it kind of makes you look like a fool.
Thanks goodness for the anonymity of the internet, right?

Anyway, back to the actual topic of the thread...
As a bar/restaurant professional for about 20 years, I have to say that I thought the food there was great and mostly a good value for the prices. When I hear or read about people who didn't like the food, I am truly astounded. I really miss the place. The only thing that holds me back from frequenting Grady David's is the fact the the job I left there to take has me working so much, I just don't have the time.
