In response to Stacey - Click (or cut and paste) the link below and you will be able to read what is wrong with Joyce and her "business" - be thankful your puppy is healthy.

We recently bought a puppy from Joyce - the first thing that struck me was her abruptness and unfriendliness on the phone, but her prices were reasonable, so we decided to check it out. The place wasn't very clean, and she was just as unfriendly in person as she was on the phone. We picked out a beautiful mixed puppy who we named Rambo and so far we're very happy with him, no noticeable health problems so far. I guess we were fortunate. I recommended her to a friend at work due to the low costs, but after reading these posts, will let him know to look elsewhere for a puppy.

I bought a boxer puppy from her just last month. my puppy would not eat, had ear infections, and had parasites, but she is doing fine now. it did cost a little bit in vet bills. they also told me she was older than she is, told me that she was a male, and her birth date on her registration is not correct since they did not tell me the right age when i got her. yea it sucks, but the way i look at it, i apparently got lucky to have just minor problems with my puppy, and now i know that i saved just one dog from that place.

My aussie mix was fine too, up until it was too late...she got to be 2 years old and i eventually had to put her down because of a genetic brain dysfuntion that was slowly killing her...the cause? breeding. I hope you don't have to go through the same

I purchased a puppy in January. I told her that I wanted a non-shed small (6lb) puppy in the range of $400.00 because of my sons allergies. Thepuppy she sold us was $600. Before we left after bying a crate, collar, case of can food, large bag of dry food it came to another $150.00.On the sheet she gave us it states female maltipoo, doctors sheet states poodlemix. My dog had kenal cough for 2 months Joyce only reimbursed us for the medicine not the vet charges. She is now 8 months old does not sleep through the night, trained on wee pads, will not go outside to do her business, spooks easily, she weighs 10lbs and is 19 inches long.Hates her crate. Will pee in her crate on her blanket at night. My son is allergic to her. I finally had to invest in a professional trainer that is costing us $500.00.Everything that Joyce told us about the dog is a lie. It just annoys me that you can purchase a dog in good faith and then be taken over and no one will help you. Why can you close her down for good.I think that she should be made to pay everyone for there pain and suffering from purchasing a dog from her that is sick or not what was quoted.

I recently visited puppy love/cc pets in Peach bottom, they had a lot of puppies and mother dogs walking around, they seemed sad,
I wanted to buy two dogs but said I think about it the ladies weren't too friendly can this be the same place? I don't remember a mailbox but the puppies were all in coops and we were allowed to take two out to the pen, If this is the same place how does it stay open?

Hi All that unfortunately find themselves reading about Joyce Stolzfus.
In 2005 I was one of many who had filed a class action suit against "puppy love Kennel" and I cringe as I write those words.
My cousin, trying to mend my broken heart because of the loss of my best friend Sunny, went to Joyce Stolzfus in search of another Golden Retriever. For Christmas 2004 I received a "4 month old Golden Retriever" She was very lathargic and was coughing from severe kennel cough and projectile poop from the worms that she was filled with. Believe it or not that was the good part. A week or so later I noticed puss pockets on her belly so I took her to the vet and she tested positive for not only Scabies (mange) but also Demodex (mange). Of course I was horrified. My cousin had paid money for this puppy. After about a $1,000.00 in medical she is now "healthy" she will be 3 years old this month, suposedly if I believe what her paper work says. She is very small and I am always asked if she has Irish setter in her. I just smile, because she is a great dog and no matter what I love her.
I am one of the lucky ones, Breeze has lived, unlike alot of those dogs. I tried to reason with Joyce, but got absolutely nowhere. I, like most of you figured I could not be the only person to have gotten such a sick puppy from the place, so I did a search. UNBELIEVEABLE that she is allowed to do business. I finally got in touch with CAPS and filed with the attorney generals office. The only thing we got was vet bills up to the price of the puppy. The thing that excited me the most about it was she was put to the strictesr laws ever, so I thought. Well now I find out that she beat that and she is obviously much smarter than our government, because all she did was change the name! How crazy is this??? I suggest that all of you who are dealing with this to file with the attorneys general office and contact CAPS (Companion Animal Protection Society) They are amazing people there and really helped all of us in 2005. To all of you reading this who have not gotten a puppy or dog yet but are horrified that you almost went there, Please check with you local SPCA for your new best friend or do a search on RESCUES, There are so many mixed breeds and believe it or not FULL BRED dogs that are living in Rescues and make awesome dogs. I know this because my best friend has a dog rescue Pawsforlife.org and she gets most of her dogs off of doggie death row in the SPCA's. Please reconsider buying a dog when there are so many who need to be rescued. Yes, I can honestly say that my cousin did rescue Breeze that Christmas Eve when she bought her from Joyce Stolzfus, but knowing what we know now, She must be STOPPED.
All the best to the ones who are dealing with sick puppies from Puppy Mills, but don't forget to make a complaint!!!

Why is she still allowed to be in business, I tried to talk to her but she was too busy, the dogs seemed sad and there were older ones in cages she said get out on weekdays. It looked a little cleaner than previous posts no two puppy cages on top of one another. I hope she cleaned up her act.
she advertises in the local paper and tellsyou one price but when you get there and she sees you are interested it goes up

I also purchased a puppy frim her. She is nasty and was very unfriendly to my kids. My dog was sick had fleas worms and ear mites. My dog is now very spoiled i have 3 girls. He is what we call as mentally challenged but i would not trade him for a million dollars . It's a shame what some people do to animals.

I bought a dog from joyce 2 years ago and she was real sick from kennel cough, than my friend bought a pocket puggle from her this year and she gave him to my daughter as a gift. Just over the weekend he got really ill with the parvovirus. I took him to the animal hospital and with in 4 hours he died. they seem to think that she shots that was on the record of sale was never really given to him and thats how he got so sick so quick.I will never forgive that woman for what she has done to my dog and my family!!!!

Yes all of these stories are very true. Both of my dogs came from there and they were very sick and to this day I am still fighting with her about it. so I told joyce that I will bring my kids to her home and she can tell them why their dog died.

I bought a dog from her. Within a week she had severe kennel cough. My mom thought she was going to die. But she is all better now and turning 4 soon. But she is a very weird dog she will bark at everything no matter what it is non-stop but we still love her. Joyce told us she was a rat terrier mix and shouldn't get any bigger than a cat...but she is now as big as a golden retriever and looks just like a border collie.
