Ain't that the truth. Look before you stop in the middle of the road!! There actually maybe someone behind you who has already seen the eagles who eat our trout that we pay to put in the river!

Even folks from out-of-town now realize what a hazard eagle watchers are.... traffic rules are not suspended just because you seen a damn eagle.... and they don't "eat our trout".... they are not nearly good enough to fish... bald eagles are mere scavengers (when the fish commission stocks dead trout as they sometimes do the eagles feast on trout)..... most often they eat herring that have fell through the turbines at the dam or roadkills.... if spring trout fishermen were as inconsiderate as eagle watchers we would have real problems.... eaglers must PARK OFF THE ROAD! Folks around here have had it

I really don't know if eagles eat the trout but
will relate a an incident that happened to me before Christmas past. I was standing outside a
local Mickey D's when a large balheaded eagle
swooped down an stole my big MAC AND small fries.
I was in total shock. I went inside and told the store manager and he said it happens all the time.
He said they especially like the egg mcmuffins.
I took a deep breath and tried to go on living.
I have not gone back to McDonalds since that
fateful day.
I was about to enter a Duncan Donuts but saw the
eagles circling and I panicked and called my
therapist. I hope this nighmare willend soon.
Thankyou all for listening to my situation.

What has happened to all you eagle watchers
out there. Does the eagle have your tongues.
Don't be afriad to respond. This is America
the land of the free and the home of the brave
and the bald headed eagle. Don't be girlie men
or boyie woman stand up and be heard!!
You have a right and a duty to express your
opinion in the USofA. If you see an eagle doing
wrong(or right) report it to the proper authority.
Thankyou and good night Mr. and Mrs. and Ms.
America.

YoMamma, it's probably getting to be old hat. They've got so many eagles around here anymore that it's as exciting as seeing the 'ol Turkey Vultures flyin' around.

You speak the thruth Mr. Beenthere. Maybe we could
discuss Bees. They seemed to be disapearing from
the world stage. This is very alarming to say the
lest. Supposedly when they leave the ball game is
over. If the bees are leaving(and they are)where
are they going? Does anyone know? Are they dying
orheading to another planet or galaxy?

Maybe you should use some of the revenue generated by all the visitors to widen the shoulder of the roads.

No shoulder to widen! The old D&H canal on one side and the river on the other!

The most serious problem facing this country is
the Bee situation. Without bees the end is near.

is over and the fat lady will be singing.

I get up there every year to watch America's symbol but I do not know the road names except for a few. I can tell you that I do not stop in the road to observe but I do drive slow so my passenger can spot. I actually prefer to just pick a likely spot and sit or get out and walk around. It's a beautifull area with more to see than Bald Eagles.

Saw an eagle catch a nice sized fish from the confluence of the Lackawaxen and Delaware Rivers. What a site!

I love to go up to Lackawaxen to take pictures of the eagles. It is only acceptable for watchers to park in a designated lot that is open to the public and take a hike away from private property.
Many eaglers get antzy and drive all over the place to find one. The best and only thing to do is to stay in one place and they will fly by. We need to be respectful to the people who live there and should never stop on 97 or even on the shoulder. This is dangerous to everyone on the road, especially when there are ice patches. The locals in Barryville and Lackawaxen have been so nice whenever I've visited alone or with my family, especially the store that burned down that rents canoes by the Zane Grey Museum.
I believe the towns can pass laws citing tickets to people who stop their cars on 97, this is a hazzard to all.

Typical comeback, for a New Yorker. I guess you didn't get his sarcasm, which I am sure wasn't meant to be as insensitive as it came out.

When seven people die there is nothing funny about
this sad situation no matter where you come from.
That is like making fun of the World Trade Center
Tragedy. Lets say there was an Indian(native Americans)convention at the Tom Quick Inn and the
roof collapsed killing all the occupants and I
said old Tom Quick is at it again. Would that be
a knee slapper-I don't think so-do you?
