TRUTHFULLY- you prove my point about not looking at consolidation fairly. And communities with only one county high school have so much community support for education it isn't even funny. People don't hate to give more funds to education, because they can see exactly where it goes. It just sounds like good bussiness. The athletics are just a great side effect. But again first let's let Lowe have his fairwell tour, and then we can worry about bigger issues.

Consolidation won't be an issue as long as Giles is winning. Let them have a 0 and forever record and I bet the chatter would start. First off, who would coach? They gonna let Lowe coach the consolidated school? I doubt that very seriously, even though he has coached longer.

The education would be much better for the students. Right now students at NHS has to go half a day to NRCC to get classes for college because there aren't enough students to employ teachers to teach the more college preparatory classes. Sports should be the secondary thoughts of parents. As previously stated in this thread sports is just a benefit. As far as who would coach, well I would say that a new coaching staff would be the best route. Or just base the coach selection on the current coaches records. The next thing would be what the consolidated schools colors be, and what would be the name of the school. Obviously Green and Gold and Blue and Red are not a choice. And the Spartan and Green Wave names would have to go. I think the best thing for the school board to do is get the matter on an election ballot for the choice as to consolidate or not to consolidate.

i was asked wrote: I was asked by a woman to sign it heard it was our centers grandmother doing it. I didn't sign it because I don't believe all the blame should go on the coaches. Plus i dont think it was right of her to do it im front of kellys child that was very disrespectful. Im glad the petition was taking away from here because the Kids have to want to play and Listen to what coaches say just for instance after the games if they lose they shouldn't be carrying on like they did last night. They should have more heart about the game but its apparent that there's only a select few that really have their heart into it. Curious you need to understand that Perdue was a replacement for the qb that got hurt during the scrimmage and he had never qb before. I think he has improved tremendously and should be giving credit for stepping up to play that position. Maybe the kids act the way they do because they are TIRED of losing and have to deal with it somehow, goodness knows they get enough flack from all of you opinionated arm chair coaches. Blowing off steam, rather than crying in front of the whole town, by clowning around a little isn't that bad of a thing. Before you say the ones clowing around after the game don't care, bullsnot, they are at every practice, and most of them played the entire game WITH EVERYTHING IN THEM... They have been serious and reflective for the last 18 losses, maybe they are tired of it, it isn't doing any good. They play how they are coached, they are told at the end of every loss, thank you for at least playing how you are coached to do. Those kids leave it all out there every time they step on the field. Maybe they are tired of hearing and reading everything that is being said. TRUST ME, THEY KNOW THEY ARE LOSING, THEY ARE TRYING NOT TO, BUT SOMETHING ISN'T WORKING AND IT ISN'T THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE FIRE FOR IT!!!!!! As for that peition, that was done in poor taste, disrespectful as hell, and seriously, in front of a whole town full of little league players, bet they are looking foward to playing for you all in a few years! Also, Jamie Scott gets taken home by Kelly Lowe after almost every practice, but his family has the nerve to circulate that petition? This petty, know it all, closed minded, opinions are part of the reason things have gone so far down hill. Support those boys, build them up, don't tear them down, maybe if the town were behind them, and these threads weren't out there for each and everyone of them to see, they might hold there heads higher. When morale is high, they play better. Go ahead and critique my grammer and spelling, I don't care, because in the end, what I say is going through one ear and out the other. If any football players are reading this, ignore this thread, dig down deep, don't give up! Some of us respect your hard work and dedication!!!!

Truthfully wrote: yeah but the reason some of us passd that high school was bc of the small numbers hell i had more one on one with my teachers than most ever do and a good ball team shouldnt be the reason for consolidating you idiot. and further more i support coach lowe intirely You mean this as a joke, right?? I find it hard to believe that someone could support Lowe entirely. What is it that he has done that earned your unwavering support? Did he jump on top of a grenade for you back in Nam or something? I just cannot see supporting someone who isn't doing their job. Narrows could be just as good as they were back in the "glory days" if they would get the right coach and I agree with an earlier post that it has to be someone with little or no local ties. How many loosing seasons should a coach get before being booted?? In many places it is as little as two. As far as consolidation goes,, it should have happened years ago. Consolidation just makes sense. Think of the money that could be saved. They wouldn't have to get rid of a bunch of teachers either. There would be enough kids to make most of all the existing teachers needed. Taxpayers should have been complaining about this years ago.

It's common knowledge that unless the people east if the rough spot want it, it's not going to happen. They actually win games up there, so sports are not a problem. Their kids get more educational opportunities so that's not a problem. Bottom line, it's not going to happen. They love coming down here and winning year after year after year. Like I said before, if it was the Giles coach with multiple losing seasons he would have been gone a long time ago

I see #8 was out in shoulder pads and helmet yesterday, throwing and running.......Does this mean he is back, or will be back soon ? If he is back, everyone moves back to their rightful position and maybe the offense can click a little bit better ? Not sure if he is back though ? Anyone heard anything ?

Don't blame the coaches blame the parents for making the players soft, I've watched every game this year and all I see is a bunch of babies out there. Heck the sidelines look like a New York E.R. with all the "injuries". Not enough talented kids to replace the ones who get hurt. I think winning starts at home, and the parents should teach the kids how to be adults. Don't leave it up to the coaches to raise your kids, its not their job. Heck I don't want them to raise mine. If my son acted the way some of those boys do I would pull his a** off the field and whip his a** right then and there. Men are made on the Football field not excuses.

Some are complaining about the team clowning around and having fun the other night. These boys have played hard and trained half the summer. My grandson went to weight-lifting and then practice every day from the time it started this summer. He's a Junior and has played from 8th grade to now.He doesn't miss practice and plays all through the game.He has worked so hard to make the grades to play,so don't run him down for having fun. This year and next year are all he has to enjoy being a varsity football player for the Narrows Green Wave.
